In today's video, we continue from where we left off in the Shivering Isles DLC for the elder scrolls 4 oblivion. We enter through the gates of madness and make our way to the city of New Sheoth. Here, we find and speak with the Daedric Prince, Sheogorath, who assigns us with multiple different tasks. One of them is to restore, the torture area / prison called Xedilian, and we actually even get to use it. The other is to learn more about the shivering isles by getting to know the Duke of Mania and the Duchess of Dementia. Here, we are assigned tasks by each leader in order to gain their favor. Don't forget to like, comment and subscribe!

I like the unique pronunciations of "sheoGARoth" by the NPC, and "zealot". Very cool and interesting!

Did you know that during this quest you can actually annoy Haskill by over summoning him? I think it takes ten tries when summoning him for the first time, but when doing so, you can spam talk to him up until he says "That's enough, really."

I actually wanted to test try this 😂 I was more than certain that with his personality, they would’ve made it so eventually he would get annoyed with us lol thanks for confirming!

Wow, this plus the power of hindsight lets me see all of the foreshadowing and setup for the Final Act of this dlc. Never noticed this as a kid, but it's pretty cool to see how far they went to give us an incredible and Unforgettable story.

Really? Never would have guessed if I'm being honest. 😆 I think it's honestly a fantastic story and a great dlc. If you ever branch out into Skyrim content, keep this little adventure in the back of your mind. There's some interesting implications for specific people in Skyrim.

Something cool I realized after a couple play throughs with the dlc installed is that depending on if you meet sheogorath in the shivering isles or through the daedric quest it changes the dialogue cause he’ll already know you. Also I think the original sheogorath voice actor from the original game is different than the dlc so if you have the dlc it’s the new guy for the shrine quest too

If you dont start Sheogoraths quest before finishing the Shivering Isles main quest (and become Sheogorath), theres unique dialouge when you start the deadric quest of Sheogorath after becoming him. Haskill will talk to you and ask you if you are confused, because you pray at your own shrine and do your own quest 😁

I remember being a little disappointed when I found out that the three adventurers who attempt to ransack Xedilian don't reappear in the Isles if you drive them insane, even though Kiliban states they'll become "permanent residents" of the Isles. That being said, I always found the whole ordeal fun, in a macabre sort of way. My favorite thing to do was drive them insane, as their dialogue when they go crazy is honestly pretty funny. I also found the idea of the Grummites mistaking the Focus Crystals for religious idols to be pretty intriguing; I always like learning about fantasy races and their culture, even when they're almost exclusively of the nasty variety. My interest in monsters also plays into this, given their somewhat animalistic appearance. I know the Grummites are basically just the Shivering Isles' take on Goblins, and are thus pretty much just reskins. Even so, they actually seem to be somewhat more advanced than Goblins. Goblins are using whatever weaponry and armor they've scavenged and/or stolen; Grummites on the other hand, actually make _their own_ weapons and armor, as evidenced by the existence of the various Grummite Cudgels, Daggers, and Shields. On top of that, Grummite Magi (their version of the Goblin Shaman) respawn after being killed, whereas the Goblin Shamans are gone for good if they die. This seems to suggest that the Grummites in general have a much more firm grasp on magic than their Tamrielic counterparts. The only armaments they _don't_ make are staffs and bows. Staffs sort of make sense, as they require a very specific type of material to make, and it's feasible that the Grummites haven't figured that part out yet. Rather, it's the bows that've always been particularly perplexing for me, as bows and arrows are among the most ancient weapons in history. Maybe the Grummites have managed to learn how to use magic, complex tools, form colonies, and even develop a religion of sorts, _and_ learn how to use and fire bows, all without ever learning how to actually _make_ bows themselves. Or maybe they _do_ know how to make bows, but something in their society forbids it. This sounds completely absurd... Until you remember we're dealing with the Realm of _Madness_ here. Side note: I'm also pretty fond of the Knights of Order; I just really love their design. I know, they look really simplistic and bland (intentionally so), but I've always thought they looked cool. I think it's pretty intriguing that when you hit a Knight of Order, it doesn't yell or anything, it just makes these metallic, almost _robotic_ noises. Which is especially fitting, given their origins. Back on the subject of their armor, though: I remember wishing I could wear their armor, myself, or at least a spell to summon a Knight. Alas, such things are not possible in the vanilla game. At least you can use their swords, though :3 Edit: Fixed some typos.

So how did Sheo create a portal to his realm? The end of the game clearly states that shouldn't be possible anymore. Also the order of the quests is backwards. Why send us to a dungeon before actually getting to learn about the realm abd it's inhabitants? In the demina quest we should be able to lie about who the traitor is. After all why should we care if she were to be overthrown? She's a b**** so she has it coming.
