HATERS Made Me Do THIS! Huracan STO New Look

It's been super controversial, so what about another new look for my Lamborghini Huracan STO!? After the initial yellow accents, and more recent 'Barbie' look including white wheels, this time I'm listening to you guys and reverting it... but honestly, I'm not so sure about the result!
I took delivery of the STO just over 2 years ago, my first Lambo, and a wild colour to suit the character of the car itself, in the bright Viola Bast. While I opted for all of the contrast carbon fibre, I decided to add my first choice of contrast by vinyl in bright yellow to match the callipers and interior details. Indisputably though, this was not to everyone's tastes.
Fast forward a year and it was time to mix it up! Inspired by my friend @TheStradman, I decided to join the white wheel army and add white accents - very much a Barbie look, and I thought it was awesome. However, there's no denying that it still hasn't been to everyone's tastes so out of curiosity I've been wondering what it would be like if we reverted the car back to the original look with satin black accents, and the black wheels it had come with. Now is the time to find out.
We have to start this with a trip to Whoops Wheel Fix It to take the wheels off and get them painted back to the original colour. The guys managed to turn them around in an incredible 36 hours, even getting the bright satin sheen that the wheels have from factory, before it's time for Brad and I to get peeling and removing the vinyl.
It turns out not to be as complicated as I expected, with an hour or two needed to pull away all the white vinyl and even some of the piano black PPF that we used to replicated the Ad Personam livery options. However, I have to be honest with my thoughts about the new look...

This is a “classy” wild spec. The yellow/white were crazy wild specs. My favorite version was the yellow, the way it popped and contrasted just made it scream Lambo for me. The white was too much with the white wheels, but without them it was also a good look in my opinion. Idea. Put lime accents to match the Zenvo, do the same to the van and do a tour with all three.

I'm a huge fan of the original spec. That white was yukky to me. And with the yellow accents, I didn't have an issue with the yellow itself, but the shade of yellow. To me, it looked "cheap" in contrast to the Viola Bast, which is a drop-dead gorgeous color.

Leave it without any accents, however the wheels you could go for the Performante gold colour. Either way, the car looks MEGA now then it was ever before! The true menacing look of what the STO should be. Cheers!

Shmee, the STO is an amazing machine. When all is said and done, it is your car and you should be able to do with it what you like. With that said, I do like this more factory look of the car. For some reason, with the contrasting yellow or white, from the front the car reminded me of a catfish. The car is already a wild looking ride but with it being one of the last V10 being made I think the OEM look gives it a touch of class to go with its wild character and I think that is fitting going forward for a car like this that will also be a future classic.

I have always said I think the OG spec looked meaner and more aggressive, but ultimately much more classy as well - made the colour pop more too!! Glad to see it back (however brief it lasts :D ) But I also know its your car and it's you that has to drive it, be seen in it so it's up to you how you choose to customise it to your taste - at least this is reversible when you choose to sell it! LOL

Keep it how it is and see how you like it after a while. If you still want a change, then dark purple trim bits would compliment the main color.

I definitely liked you initial “Outlandish” redesign with yellow accents. In the Lamborghini Austin showroom last week I saw one Viola Baste with neon green accents. AWESOME! Go with your heart. ❤

Looks mega back in the factory spec, never really bonded with the yellow or white - the STO is just such an insane car on its own that there's no need to go that overkill on the accent colours. I hope you end up growing to like the original spec.

I loved the pink from the beginning - it was the yellow combination which clashed and respectfully looked aesthetically compromised. Tom’s idea of the white however was perfection!!!!!

Hi Tim. Love your work. Little advice, you should not change things, just because people say so. The car is an extension of your personality, and it`s a lambo. It should have is own character, and shout at your face. The viola - yellow was a cool combo. If you like it, it`s all that matters. Best regards. Keep up with the good work.

I liked the yellow, it was exotic and a good combination with the Viola Bast paint. The white was…unique, definitely bold and not for the faint of heart haha. As incredible as the stock look is, I like the flare you added to it, even if it may have been bold sometimes.

I'm with you Tim, wasn't sure at first, but it's the White for me, I never warmed to the Yellow. The factory spec is awesome too, its going to look off for a while when you remove such a highlight, give it a few days.

I think it looked better with the white contrasts. The black doesn't look bad, but I feel like the white suits the car better. If you are going for a new wrap, check out some different variations of pink (bright, light, deep, gloss, satin, etc), or something like that, I think that would be interesting to see. Maybe there will be too much pink, yet maybe there won't be enough? Who knows untill you try! haha

I have to say, I think the yellow and the white distracted from the wonderfully outrageous body colour. In my opinion, the bright plastic stick on bits just serve to cheapen the look of this fantastic lamborghini. Live with it for awhile Shmee and I'm sure it will grow on you.

Im glad he finally was honest about the spec. As excited as he's tried to be about it, it was obvious that he struggled with the spec after taking delivery. I know colour specs are subjective but the STO being motorsport derived would look absolutely killer in plain old white with exposed carbon bits. That being said, it looks a heck of a lot better in its delivery spec than it does with the yellow or white accents!

I know everyone has their own taste but I don’t know how you can dislike this spec at all. I’m not a wild color guy but the spec on this car from factory is just so good. I don’t think it would work for me on anything other than a Lamborghini though lol. Love that it’s back to spec.

Add verde mantis accents around the car, not full, but what about like striping in the matte carbon areas like a thin stripe on the back of the wing a thin stripe across the bottom of the side skirt, that sort of thing. It would be more subdued but still gives that pop of craziness. I think it would look pretty good and would give you that flare you are looking for.

It definitely looks better imo with the Viola Bast and black accents. Maybe you could wrap over the viola bast in a different colour? But I think maybe keeping the black accents makes it look so much better. At the end of the day, it’s your car, you have to be happy with it so just do what makes you happy.

I thinkt the "original" viola bast with yellow accents was my favorite. Around the time when you wrapped the STO is when I subscribed to your channel, so I have some kind of connection to that spec. It still looks great in the factory spec and I liked the white and purple, but the yellow wrap was my favorite. Anyway, great video, as usual. Keep doing your thing!

I love all of your car specs purely because you explain the process behind them. If i remember correctly your reasoning for the STO was, "first lambo, gotta make it crazy" and i completely stand by that logic. It's great, it's most importantly FUN! People who moan about other people's cars can go buy their own STO, get it done in Viola Bast, and just keep it without any accent colours. Simple as that

Next he said it was not a permanent shmee mobile and sooner or later he will sell it. Removing that horrendous look will obviously help that cause.

The original spec looks best, probably because the Viola Bast paint is just so stunning. I generally don't like Black wheels on supercars, but I have to concede that the all black accented look just works the best. This video does bring up the question of how much longer the STO will be around. In the same way that Tim needs to work on his Porsche segment of his car collection, I do hope another Lamborghini of some sort appears in the future.

The white looked insane and with the yellow accents it looked just perfect. But now with the factory spec it’s as if something is missing. In my opinion, do what you like but I wouldn’t go full yellow this time in favor of yellow pin-striping to cater more to the people who are boring. When I saw the thumbnail, I almost got a stroke.. :)) You got us there Tim.. I personally love the new looks of your STO and I think that this is absolutely gorgeous! A real eye candy! On the other hand, I am really sorry to hear that you don't like it, because at the end of the day this is your car. I really do hope that the new looks will eventually resonate with you down the road. For now my suggestion is leave this OEM and make some videos with it for us, as we all love new content with your crazy and gorgeous purple Lambo!
