Tried riding with my dog once, he made me hit the floor more times than usual, then eventually had enough and slipped the lead and ran off with me chasing him and screaming at him like a lunatic, I lost him but thankfully he made it home and was sat there like a stupid idiot waiting for me..... I'd only been in the house with him a week, so I was crapping my pants wondering if he knew where he was going! He's still with me and is 16 years old now.

DCD - Daves Chain Device and Crud Catcher - the plug in the lower part of steering tube to prevent muck filling it.
@drumbrakesАй бұрын
There was a version of that steerer plug called the Crud-Bung, A red one came free with MBUK around Comic Relief day one year. I'm still running a crud catcher and crud bung. New bikes should be required to come with threaded holes in the down tubes to fit them, I think Pace actually did for a few years. Use Zefal Gizmo 108 for a clean looking way to mount a Crudcatcher.

I love how in the first 5 minutes you've gone from slagging off a company that's trying telescopic rear suspension, to berating linkage front suspension. If one method is better than the other, why not use it at both ends? Or if linkage suspension is better for small bump compliance, why not use that at the front, and use telescopic at the back?

Re under-tube bottle mount . .I appreciate having the extra mount, and just swap the lid over when I swap the bottles. I'd rather have the extra water as I do looong rides. I carry two 1L bottles and in summer drink three bottles worth - the second bottle has more (2x) concentrated electrolytes and I split it between the bottles and add water when I have the opportunity - takes some planning for the stop(s), but worth it. Also as I get older (and less heat tolerant), I'd much rather carry water on the bike than on my back (too hot in AU) - I have three hydration packs that I don't use any more - nothing goes on the back now. Repair gear in the saddle bag, phone, sunscreen and food-bars in the stem bag.

Yeah, I don't get why they are hating on me lol. I just had my hip bag full of snacks and couldn't fit my water in there so I mounted it in the only place I could fit it on the bike. Do these guys want me to get dehydrated after biking 20+ miles lol.

I wish to advocate the re-adoption of 'V' brakes because they are effective enough and lighter than discs, AND if they placed the clamp mechanism for the cable inner on the Left Hand caliper arm instead of on the Right, as at present, (viewed from the front) this would save a few inches in cable and also reduce the curvature of both the cable and Noodle Tube. (Assuming that you operate the front brake with your right hand, as most peeple do). Note, I hear that in the USA the Law actually requires that the front brake lever goes on the left. But then what can you expect from pople that drive on the wrong side of the road!

I do not understand peoples aversion to linkage front forks. The only reason the telescopic fork is the "state of the art" is because it was easy at the start and by now is highly developed. But it's kinematic is extremely limited. They move straight. That's it. Whatever the ideal front suspension kinematic is, it's not that. They haven't found it yet (in my opinion) but it will be some form of linkage. And as to the looks: I actually love the look of my Motion E18.

While it is a really fun and neat publicitary stunt, it's by no means good desing, due to the angle it will never be as good as the modern pivots or rear triangles, that's why pivoting forks were an experimental but relatively successfull thing that have returned but rear forks haven't. It's neat and i bet everyone from the era is digging on their pockets for one but it's strictly a gimmick IMO

I use disk cleaner and the nose comes back, more on the front then the rear. Could they still be contaminated? I think to try using sandpaper but not sure what grit sandpaper to buy (800-1,000 grit?). Picture of a system that is contaminated would be great.
