You are correct in pointing out that Cape Verdeans (and other global coastal residents) refuse to paint their homes due to the erosive effect of the sodium laden and wind blown ocean moisture.

Badejo is a Yoruba name from Western Nigeria. Given that Portuguese also colonised Yorubaland before the British, the name might have been bastardised. Badejo is a well known name of person in Yoruba land.

In the French Caribbean, the GROG is well-known ! Rice and beans all over the Caribbean ( Cuba, Republica Dominicana, Haiti). Much of the capture of Africans transported to the Caribbean came fron Senegal and Guinee.

Hi Willy i have only been to Sal Santa Maria 3 times you say that is expensive, so now im watching your videos, you should have make list like a beer in Sal cost this comparing what it cost in Mindelo, i went to local restaurants in Santa Maria got fantastic lunch for €2

Good question. Most of Cape Verde feels almost deserted. I think mass migration is the main issue.
