I went into the episode half expecting for Dente to kick the bucket seeing how "token good" kaijin in tokusatsu seem to be offed pretty regularly but it was nice to see him stick around (for the moment at least) Also enjoyed the world-building bits we got of the Granute society and of course Hanto's speech at the end. Looking forward to his debut next week.

One thing I love is that during the sewer grate scene, Shouma was ACTUALLY considering leaving the action figure inside the sewer grate, but as he comes to the realization, he helped nonetheless, knowing that it isn't the people being happy that's putting them in danger, but the Stomach family putting them in danger.

It wasn't the Twins, the Agent has orange colours and seems to be the same one who was already following Hanto for some reason in previous episode. That one if from the Handosme Scitist brother xdxd I also liked that the Dark Treats are just like irl drugs and that the Stomach Inc.'s activities are "ilegal" even in their own world. I guess Shoma will have to learn that, he has only meet awful people from the Granutes' race and was prevernted from seeing anything else, so I can see why he would attack any granute, thinking they are all the same, in sight, lol. He also needs to meet Really Bad Humans too, he has only meet Kind Humans and Asshole Granutes. I hope the turns table at some point. Then, the more I learn the more I can't comprihend how Shoma can still be such a happy person with that upbringing, lol. I guess even in the missery his mum was a sunshine to her child.

Bruh the mafia boss had dreads on his beard, that goes hard for a monster form, like Imagine Ultraman Bebial rocking a beard, it totally added to the fun for me, is like imagining Shou Ronpo from kyuranger without his gotee

The lore building of this episode is great. First things first though, I don't know whether if this was commented or reviewed on before, but the OP has added Kenzo Suga right after the villain's intro, making him a bit more suspicious. Anyways, this episode has further proved that Shoma is a half human, and indeed was experimented on to have the new Gavv, which is interesting not only due to the Showa Riders parallels, but also that it isn't for a bad thing, it is due to a family love. And I really like Shoma's great uncle in this story, as he not only cares about Shoma like his father did, but also that he is probably the first Granute we know that doesn't have a Gavv to disguise as humans, as well as don't have an addiction to the Black Candies. Well then again he is also part of the Stomach Family. Also we get to know that Shoma's father died, but how? We are not sure at this point. Hanto is really being helpful, though he is also seriously closer and closer to the truth, and that also will put him in serious danger. As close as next episode, whoo boy. Overall really great episode, and I do like Shoma's new goal now, and is willing to live side by side with a human, despite the risk of having them turn into spices.

Dente's monster design is based on the blue whale which seems to be a clear reference to Kujira Kaijin from Kamen Rider Black and Black Sun, another good kaijin from the franchise history.

One thing i curious are oddly the father and mothers of the stomach family, the dad is someone hard to show emotions well so his actions could be more dificulty to understand but also giving both the 5 siblings before shoma we dont know about the first wife. Also the 6 sibling remind me of yugioh seven goha siblings before we knew about the last one for a bit i and i think many more thougth our mc would be the missin sibling but then a twist happend. Still nice to see his greatuncle been good as he pretty much was the doctor of the family

Love the fact that Shoma's uncle isn't a right arse and sees humans merely a spice for those confections... Even if he's living in a junk filled cave, he's not going around and abducting people! It's nice to know that at least one of our main rider's family isn't an absolute monster!

He might have cooked the formula for the Dark Treats but there's no way he would eat it himself knowing how addictive it is. 2 general rules among drug lords, "I don't sniff my own product" and "I don't shit where I sleep."

Man, Japan just loves there crappy fathers, don’t they? I do like Hanto’s feeble but admirable attempt to save the victims. This is a great episode overall. Thanks for the review!

One thing you didn't mention is the conversation between the Stomach family. Their talk of the 'authorities' and having to sell their Dark Trets on the black market imply that even other Grannutes would consider what they're doing to be criminal. I'm interested in the idea that Grannute society by default isn't evil, it's just that Shouma is fighting the Grannute equivalent of a drug cartel.

Well technically, the Granutes Shouma had killed are actually criminals even in the Granute world since as revealed in this episode, Dark Treats are illegal.

You've misinterpreted Shoma's decision in this episode. When Shoma realizes that what he did to the old couple is the same thing his father did to him, he realizes it was wrong of him. He decides that he DOES want to make humans happy now, because it's unfair to punish them for what the Granutes are doing; That's explicitly why he goes back to Sachika in the end, to make people happy. I'm honestly not sure how you managed to miss this, since Shoma directly says all of this in dialogue with zero ambiguity
