I own a 2016 A3 e-tron for around two years now which i got for a ridiculously low price. Treat it like a fancy Golf GTI with a plug in battery and you'll find it a very enjoyable daily especially in urban areas. Reliability has been pretty good as mine has full factory dealer service since day one. It has a few niggles and annoyances, but when you're getting 2.5L/100km average in times close to record breaking fuel cost, everything is forgiven.

How much did you pick it up for, what's the mileage on it?

How is ot going with maintenance costs? I saw one for a good price and that's the only thing holding me into getting it 😿

I guess the battery was meant to keep you from idling in stop and go traffic, the distance isn't much

This upcoming week I'm buying one from 2017. I got my eyes on it for few days now. Did u drive or like more a better car than this? Would u have some recommendations?

I don't have one or anything but you would be surprised with the knee and head room for both the front and rear seats in a 2nd generation Honda CR-V

I want to see someone swap the drivetrain and suspension from an RS3 into one of these US spec A3 e-tron bodies. I think that would be an awesome car, and the only way to get an RS3 Sportback in the US before they can be imported.

I know a guy who's working towards it, hoping to see it running within the next year

I considered once getting a Audi A3 from 2010-2016. I know 2 different generations. But there too small so now I'm considering a A4 or A6 similar years.
@MrWilburlandaverde8 ай бұрын
The a3 would be best if you're shorter and have passengers, a4 is perfect all around but the a6 is so roomy and the rear passengers get better treatment

it looks a lot better with the Sport seats and roof rails

Isn't $40k too expensive for a hatchback, let alone an Audi hatchback? Probably that's why it didn't sell well.

Plus the Toyota Prius already being a better car with a more established market

Another thing that hurts is you can't get Audi's excellent quattro AWD with the A3 e-tron. That said I have one for around 2 years now and it is a great city runabout. Small compact size, nimble handling and sprightly powertrain. As a preowned purchase it is an absolute pleasure to own.

German Prius minus the reliability.
@angelsfallfirst73482 жыл бұрын
Only fair, since Audi is German Toyota without the reliability

Rather buy a 2015 A3 1.8T for $10k-$15k and save the difference for lifetime worth of gas.

Nice VW. That's Audi's problem, they don't feel special because they have to share platforms with VW. Cheap Mercedes-Benzes and BMWs still feel special because they don't share their platforms with downmarket cars. Porsche shares platforms too but has managed to make them feel like Porsches. The only thing this has going over a Golf is the hybrid system. Audi's upper models are good but they're still "that other German luxury brand". The value proposition for their smaller cars just isn't there. The disappearing screen is cool but never own a German car out of warranty. The buttons look cheap but the gauges look cool. It looks a little more refined and minimalist than a Golf.

$50k for a compact hybrid audi with the shit reliability record and electrical problems that VAG has has in a car that has more computers and electronics than ever before! Hell you can get a mid tier brand new f-150 4x4 for the price of this and keep the reliablity!
