those baby turtles are so adorable! i would absolutely love to be able to help rescue every single one of them. they're just so amazing and they're some of the cutest animals I've ever seen. i hope that they can someday get off of the endangered species lists, and that their populations can get back to the higher numbers they used to be

@@Marine_Veteran_Vegan_Gamer no, but I just can't get over how adorable they are. even if they weren't cute, I would still care just as much. I've always loved animals. all of them. i think that it's great that the people in this documentary are helping to save the turtles, and if i was in that place, i would love to be able to help them get the turtles to the ocean too.

Huge respect for Emilio Alverez and Co.! This was a professional movie. BBC Earth-level quality. The bird's eye views, the long shots, the panning, the narration... everything was masterfully done.

Why are humans so special and different from other animals on this planet? Well... because we have a very rare ability that only we(humans) have. We are KIND and capable to TAKE CARE of other animals. So, if YOU truly are human, be KIND and TAKE CARE of other animals.

Beautiful video. Here in Brazil we also have 5/7 sea water turtles species coming here to nest and eat (Chelonia mydas; Caretta caretta; Dermochelys coriacea; Eretmochelys imbricata and Lepidochelys olivacea). I am currently working with the prefecture of Jaboatâo dos Guararapes, in Pernambuco, northeast of Brazil, and we are also helping baby sea turtles be able to go to sea (as well as educating the population). Just this weekend alone we had 136 of them born. However, still to this day, many people activelly search for turtle eggs, either to try and sell them off or to eat them, and many get in the way of the mother as she is tired and hungry from her voyage...

there are only 5 sea turtle species?
@aurouribe43842 жыл бұрын
There are seven but 2 of them are endemic to Australia and other islands of Oceania so they don't come to Mexico :)

Or we slowly stop eating fish to save fish. Just a thought; plus all of the bycatch like turtles, sharks dolphins etc. that we would save.
@Marine_Veteran_Vegan_Gamer2 жыл бұрын
Why slowly, when you can cold turkey it. Fish are sentient beings with the capacity to experience pain. Let's not pay for their suffering.

Couldn’t indiscriminately bringing all lagging baby turtles to the ocean hurt the gene-pool of the turtle population? Couldn’t it also have an effect on other species that depend on suboptimal baby turtles for food?
@tmurphy09192 жыл бұрын
It could but not much, I think. If they can't make it off the beach on their own, they won't last long in the water. Part of that 1 in 1000 survival rate is that there are predators waiting offshore who heard the dinner bell and are waiting at the table.

@KingAwesomeOutputs2 жыл бұрын
Nuclear energy is required for a shift away from fossil fuels. It's the only existing non-CO2 emitting energy source that can provide base load power, when wind and solar are unavailable. If not nuclear, then it will be natural gas which is not what we want. With currently viable technology, nuclear is the best bet for a non-intermittent non-emitting energy source.
