This makes a lot of sense, even out of context. I don't think you can be called a fan boy for something that is free (as in freedom). To me "fan boy" implies simping for a person or a corporation, to the point they can take advantage and sell you stuff you wouldn't buy if made by someone else. Linux isn't the product of a company, nor is there a single version of Linux, the license prevents it from being owned by anyone.

If you go full Linux, well, you just might be a fanboy cause while it's improving it still isn't there yet.
@Ferkiwi3 жыл бұрын
@@kaldogorath I guess we have different definitions of "fanboy". To me it'd be weird to say "fanboy of the color yellow" or "fanboy of computer tech"... it needs to apply to a company (eg. Apple, Microsoft) or a company IP (eg. Xbox, Playstation), a band/group of people (eg. the Beatles), or a specific person. Rather than just being fan of a generic concept. To me what you describe could be called a Linux "freak" / "geek" / "obsessed", but I wouldn't say that would be a fanboy since there's no IP ownership attached to FOSS. It's the difference between someone who is a sucker for AMD (fanboy) and someone who is just so obsessed with APU technology that he might use an APU even for cases where getting a dedicated CPU & GPU might work better cause APU tech "still isn't there yet". You can be an "Ubuntu fanboy", or a "Debian fanboy", because those are Linux companies or organizations and being a fan of those groups trascends technical or moral preferences.. but "Linux fanboy" is more of a technical preference that's independent of any company/organization so it doesn't have the same meaning.

That is also environmentally friendly. I don't understand why can't you see it? It is very tough to get such niche controllers parts, specially the batteries and basically if rechargeable built in battery dies, the WHOLE CONTROLLER becomes junk. With this, if for some reason battery dies and can't be used anymore, you can just get rechargeable AA batteries and keep on going. It is COOL.

Grabbed my 8bitdo Pro today in the PS1 style for playing on PC w game pass and I’m truly in love. I’m coming from a ps4 controller and it feels incredibly similar but somehow more comfortable. I think the claim that it’s for retro games is just projecting because that’s what he sees in it. I played Star Wars Jedi order and forza for some hours today and had a blast. This controller is definitely on par for any kind of gaming. The back buttons are a plus as well. I’d say if you’ve been thinking about it just get it you’ll probably love it. It's really a shame the Xbox controller doesn't support gyro/have back paddles. It is one of the most ergonomic controllers, but I hate the feeling of aim assist. I have the Pro+ controller. The one thing I really am looking forward to for this controller (whenever it comes back in stock) is the switch on the back for switching between different pairing modes so I can easily move between my Switch and my retro gaming. As Anthony said, with the current method of switching on the Pro+, you either have to go into the software to configure it, or press some weird button combination that I never understand or remember.
@themawnster71913 жыл бұрын
I don't really get that. It's simple, it's hold start to power on, then each face button held along with it is a different input/pairing mode. Hell, PC is the easiest one to remember too, it's X for Xinput. Although I'm biased, before the Pro+ I had the Pro (which I still use for android), and while it doesn't have removable battery, in the same spot they have a sticker with some specs and the list of which button to press for which mode.
