I play on a 27in screen and my desk is pretty shallow. I play better in games like Quake and osu! on my laptop's 13in screen because I can see everything in my peripheral vision instead of moving my eyeballs on the 27in. Larger screens are for video watching while smaller ones are for competitive gaming.

I have had a number of gaming laptops over the years across all the major brands with 1070s, 2070-Max-Q, and so on. I bought the G14 to play Escape from Tarkov while I'm on the road. None of the other laptops I tried could get anything above 50-60fps in the game on 1080p medium or high settings. I wasn't expecting much from the G14, either. But, it crushes it. 1080p Medium: between 90 and 110 fps. Really impressed with the G14.

As a Razer owner and former Asus owner I would add that another advantage of the Razer is you can actually game with it on your lap without receiving third degree burns. So while the Asus is great as a desktop replacement that can be moved between desks, the Razer is better for people with a desktop who also want a machine that they can take to a friends and use while sitting on the couch/bed/floor.

People complaining about the chin below the lcd miss the obvious ergonomics of the chin. You can be gaming or typing and your fingers don’t block the bottom portion of the screen. All bezels on the other sides aren’t purposeful beyond protection but the bottom chin is actually useful! Additionally it moves the screen up slightly for less nerd-neck leaning down posture.
