awful lot of bogus numbers and bashing going on with this gun...how about some facts for a change? kimber k6s MSRP = $899 Estimated street price ~$700 current firearm K6S most closely resembles = S&W model 640 PRO SERIES S&W 640 PRO MSRP = $839 Estimated street price ~$700 640 pro holds 5 rounds, k6S holds 6 with similar size and weight. The k6s is a premium gun with premium features at premium price and should be compared as such, comparing it to a $325 model 642 is like comparing a Lexus to a Corolla. The fluff and Buff adds value weather you like it or not. Sorry fanboys, it had to be said And for what its worth, I am not a fan of kimber, or these "premium" guns. They aren't for me and i won't be buying one, but that doesn't mean Lexus wont sell cars, or that kimber wont sell the k6s, or that either isn't worth the $$.

Mand'alor Saw it at the store grip was good for me and the trigger is much better than my 642 J-frame ( that I do like and carry). I'll probably be buying the Kimber because of the 6 rounds . Shot 10 rounds of 357 out of a Ruger SP101 wasn't that bad if this Kimber has the same type of recoil it's mine.
@Mike-45477 жыл бұрын

I've fondled one. It feels great in the hand, quality construction, but I went ahead and bought a Smith for 300 dollars less. Still feels great in the hand, quality construction, but I'll admit, I only have 5 rounds instead of 6.

If you compare the fit and finish to a Colt, S&W or Ruger, the Kimber has them beat. If you shop around you can find a K6S for around $600-$700 range. Kimber K6S is a wonderful revolver it's about the same size of a j frame revolver with 6 shots of .357 Magnum. The K6S has probably the best double action triggers on the market.
@MnS1016 жыл бұрын
I bought this revolver last week. I've enjoyed it so far. So far it's seen 50 158 grain .357s and 50 130 grain 38 specials. It performed flawlessly. I paid $790 for it and it's worth every penny.

Kimber must be full of "Yes men". They produce a 357 with a squared off grip that digs into the webbing of your hand. Nobody at their factory made a note of this? Individuals who shoot on a regular basis are commenting on this. What is the average shooter going to say? Poor rush to execution Kimber...Gunny Z.

Why al of the hate? Kimber comes with a premium, and you are getting premium. all of their 1911's look exactly like every other 1911. Unless you get extra serrations and grips, on the outside it is exactly like every other 1911. look closer... Kimber has great detail. it counts when it works repeatedly. it counts when quality in manufacturing produces one of the best straight off the shelf reliable guns. this ReEvolver is no different. It may look like someone reached into a grab bag of revolvers and put what they liked best about each gun and put one together, but i bet you it works. I bet you it locks up better than ANY taurus. I bet you it is designed to function just as well, if not better, than all of the other top shelf revolvers. i bet you these will fly off of the shelves. I bet you most of the hate will come from someones nephews cousins great uncles wives dorm room mates daughters old boyfriend that said he SAW someone shoot it at an event and wasn't able to get close enough to it to actually see it, but he thought is sucked. as of RIGHT now, only two videos are up on people shooting it, so none of the haters have anything to go on, but you are still hating. keep following the herd fellows.
@02pwrstrk8 жыл бұрын
+Rheal Dingus "+02pwrstrk How about instead of comparing it to a Taurus you compare it to an actually good revolver?" exactly! you have to compare it to an actual good revolver, proving you know its at least as good as a good revolver.
@02pwrstrk8 жыл бұрын
+bottomlands I'm not 'hurt at all. i just see all the hate before there is anything to hate. people regurgitating what they have seen and heard. as soon as a good hard review (by anyone besides +theyankemarshal) comes out, nobody has any idea about this gun except for its looks.
@theilluminati75528 жыл бұрын
+02pwrstrk IMHO, the only premium here is a premium NAME. You're paying Kimber prices for a Kimber pistol. It's like the "premium" difference between a pair of Nike Jordans vs NewBalance shoes. I'm just not a Kimber fan. Even their 1911s, which I have shot with friends, I still prefer my Rock Island 1911 instead for half the price. ymmv
@quintili18 жыл бұрын
+Rheal Dingus How is it twice as much as a comparable S&W? The one to compare would be the S&W 640 Pro, which has an MSRP of $839. The Kimber has an MSRP of $899 and you get an extra round in it. I don't really see any comparable S&W .357 that's half the price.
@02pwrstrk8 жыл бұрын
+indytbird The same has to be asked about a S&W then. What is premium about a S&W beings S&W is the only other company that the kimber is being benchmarked against? I am not in love with Kimber, I shoot Kimber and believe in Kimber and their products. My problem is people bad mouthing a product that they don't have any idea about. It started out with "rumors" of msrp of $1200, then Shot Show announced the actual price. now, comparatively, it is as premium as a 6 shot S&W snub nose in the same price range. on another note, why would you mention the Ruger SP101? It's not the same gun. the SP101 is a double action, 5 shot (unless you are talking about a .22lr). The Kimber on the other hand is a 6 shot designed for concealed carry. It's not the love for Kimber that i am defending, it's the uninformed haters that are getting on my nerves. P.S. I own a Ruger SP101 4.5" .357 and love it as well.

Interesting looking revolver. Got a few minor bugs that will likely be corrected as production moves forward. Like the hammerless profile and size with 6-shot cylinder, definitely a plus. A revolver this size I typically use only 38 Special in. Buffalo Bore makes some outstanding standard pressure, low flash, 38 Special 150 gr full-wadcutter, self-defense loads. Very modest 870 fps from a real 2-inch revolver makes it very controllable, but the full flat 0.357" nose guarantees a permanent tunnel thru living flesh of at least 3/4" diameter beyond 14" penetration and a sure-fire killer with a center mass hit. Guess Kimber has taken note that the #1 selling handgun for CCW remains the 2" barrelled revolver. Guess all the "Chicken Littles" who continue to pronounce the revolver antiquated and obsolete may be stunned into silence for a time at Kimber's solid business decision. To remain in business, a company MUST produce what the customer clearly wants. The "antiquated & obsolete" revolver remains solidly in production for very good reasons: the revolver WORKS, and works better than any alternative yet attempted.

interesting on the angle of the handle and geometry of felt recoil. Incite-full and interesting as always. I still miss Barry at these times. The beveling is interesting. I like my Ruger LCR and the SP101 already meet my needs for this mode, my Charter Bulldog in 44 special meets these needs for a lot less money, I see the market for this California where you are under pressure to have less than 10 rounds of anything and where good citizens are not free. It is priced to be a concealed luxury item. Time and the market will tell if it works out. I did not expect the Ruger LCR to be as easy to shoot and as comfortable to carry for example. I suspect this is the future of California markets to make revolvers more popular. A good 357 round is an effective round even though most shooters probably do better with 38 special +P for handling. I do like encouraging gun-makers to be innovative. It is the only way to improve the product for everyone's use. I don't have a right to be too supportive since I have three Mare's Legs simply because they are fun. They might now appeal to most folks for practicality, but just because I find them fun they work for me especially on the stable area. I have a 357 version with a laser that allows hip shots for a quick first shot that actually made it work faster for me. It is the fun factor why I bought each one. I did not expect to like my Pug so much, yet I find I almost always carry it now as backup. In a concealed carry I almost now want the best trigger I can get and a decent sight picture as I age. Sometimes I find a cheaper revolver can actually have a better trigger than an expensive model.

I will never understand why people buy hammerless revolvers. One of the advantages of a revolver is that you can use it double action or single action. Take away the hammer and you lose that advantage. You might as well buy a double action only semi-auto. At least then you'll get a lighter, thinner gun that holds more rounds.
