We stopped celebrating Halloween in my household about 3/4 years ago… but I can definitely tell that my daughter wished she could celebrate it. We do movies & baking at home instead. Trying to find a balance for her, but not compromise with our beliefs as a Christian.

I love that, your doing a great job, i know she will look back and thank you. From my experience i think kids just love the dressing up part. maybe she can have dress up parties for her birthday or play dates.

@Tabatha I grew up in a small town and raised Catholic - but yes Halloween was a major thing for us. Now I’m spiritually in a whole other space + my youngest is a sophomore in college. It’s never to late to be transformed! 🙌🏽🙏🏽

I am ready for this one! Been researching for years reading the Bible and listening to other Christian perspectives for an answer on this question

My church's preschool program has a Noah's animals dress up day which they do the week prior to Halloween. The kids love that!

Excellent!! He who wins souls is wise. We have to know how to provide alternative ways of enjoying life for our children as well as the lost in order to win them over to Christ!!

I’ve been wondering and praying about this. I stopped celebrating Halloween 2 years ago, and I got more serious about my relationship with Christ. My family still celebrates, and I’ve been struggling because they want to do pumpkin carving

And just spend family time together. So I’ve been stuck in the middle of should I spend time with my family and not be weird, while staying true to my faith.

I drove by a house a couple of weeks ago. It shocked me. They have tall bushs around the house with Huge Spiders and Webs, Skeletons and Gargoyles all like 2 stories high. It literally made me shiver. I had to plead the blood of Jesus as I drove off. One church I went to in Ohio had "Trunk or Treat" people would decorate their cars the trunks and have candy for the kids. Also, another church had lots of games, and candy for kids inside the church and you could dress up in fun things. Nothing demonic, scary etc. I later decided no not for me no Halloween.

I’m noticing these “lawn decorations” getting bigger and taller. It really threw me off to see skeletons as tall as houses on people’s lawns. That feels awfully telling to me.

This is the first year we are not cerebrating Halloween. I have learned about the origins of Christmas and now trying to figure out how to disassociate with this holiday.

The way you guys handle this evil Halloween is very smart! By calling it Light the Night. God says in his word . He who win souls is wise. I love the idea. Keep being used by God. The Holy Spirit is definitely operating in you two. Blessed couple of God. I love this podcast 🥰🤗

I love this video. very informative. when i first came to Christ i would pray for conviction and correction, that’s when i received so much revelation. but i’d admit i’m definitely very much an over corrector 😂

I honestly don’t agree with dressing Christian kids up for Halloween, at all. Nice cute characters or not, it’s about covenant and agreement. The thing with believers is that we sometimes try and redeem something that’s inherently demonic, when we’re simply called to be set apart. Why not just take them to evangelize that night. Just my opinion.

Could not have said it better myself… don’t miss God trying to please your children… my mom did not allow us to celebrate Halloween at all in no fashion…That is what Jesus meant by you must hate(deny) all to be his disciple…

I cannot watch anything scary. I dream about everything I see. Suspense even gets me. It’s difficult to express this to non believers when they ask me about why I don’t participate in horror stuff.

I've never able to watch anything scary and now I see why as an adult. God has put it inside me from a child that halloween and all the demonic things that it allows to stay away.

Anything you do on Halloween that you don’t normally do is celebrating it… any form of celebrating it is not of God… so dressing up like spider man to ask for candy is celebrating Halloween… you either do or don’t… and from Listening to you Pastor Ken, you allow your kids to celebrate it…. They can be the “light in the middle of the world” without celebrating Halloween… “There is a way that seems right to a man….” God Bless yall..

Also every Disney movie has witchcraft in it …. So dressing up like a Disney Princess is just as bad as dressing up like a witch….

Last year I had my kids go from Door to door in the house and we didn't do anything demonic but we played games and I asked questions about the bible. Every right answer they got candy. But this year we are just going to eat pizza and watch cartoons and I'm going to have a little candy for them. So they won't be put there thinking everything is ok, and they know the difference between the demonic and angels. I try to teach them more about God and that they don't have to do what they see everyone else do.

Have you guys ever heard of birthdays being a Paganism holiday, we shouldn't celebrate Birthday because it's considered self worship day. What's your opinion on that?
@matthewdavis30402 ай бұрын
@jamilatee. I haven't celebrated my birthday since I was 21 years old. I've realized that I will always be number 2. Christ will forever be number 1.
