Zac's a nice guy and did some cool things like delivering game balls to local Cincy bars, but he definitely lacks that killer instinct sorely needed in the AFC North for the Bengals to be a dominant threat taken seriously. I don't know what's going on this year, but something needs to be changed, because the Bengals are too talented to be 4-8 right now. They always seem to be under prepared and/or too often predictable offensively. Granted, Joey B, Ja' Marr and Trey have been incredible this year, but obviously aren't enough to win when the defense rarely forces other teams to punt. Believe it or not, I think Rex Ryan might be a good fit as HC to prepare and motivate the Bengals, but apparently he wants to try again with the Jets. Belichick could definitely improve our defense and probably ride Joey B's greatness to a Super Bowl win just like he did with Tom Brady. But sadly, there's one problem, Mike Brown, who basically wants a "yes man" as HC of the Bengals running the ship, and definitely not a typically strong, but occasionally abrasive personality nor a proven, multi Super Bowl winning HC used to doing things "his way or the highway". No matter what happens, I've been a diehard Bengals fan since established in '68, and will be until the day I die! WHO DEY! (from "high" in Sin City)

What great players? Bates? Mixon? They drafted terribly in replacing some guys. The free agents they signed this year, which ones are not busts? They even kept a six year veteran TE Sample and re-signed him to a three year deal and to date in six years he has done nothing. They even retain crap, like Trayveon Williams who has as much chance to contribute as I have of hitting the lottery. His other deadbeat buddy, Chris Evans is on IR and would have done nothing. Jonah Williams? Who left? I think it is more about what else has been done since that lucky trip to the Super Bowl and return trip to the AFC Championship Game where one of their stupid draft picks hit Mahomes out of bounds in the last minute. It's not just who walks, but it is being too content in staying the same, not improving, not trying to improve, bad cheap personnel decisions that continue to compound themselves. A couple good draft picks and we would have forgotten all about Bates. Instead, cheap free agents, bad draft choices, and among that no accountability or commitment in getting it right. They just wait out the mistakes until contracts expire and those guys walk also.

1. I don’t think I’ve ever watched this team go into a game under Zac Taylor where I thought we had the coaching advantage. Not once. 2. Frank Pollack still being employed is mind boggling. 3. Not only has the team fumbled 2 straight offseasons by letting key players walk, they’ve basically spent just as much trying to replace them with below average players. 4. They still haven’t paid Chase and instead let him drive up his price even higher when it would’ve cost them less to just get it done in the offseason.

They aren’t a serious franchise and shouldn’t be rewarded with our hard earned money until they actually invest in the team's future (more scouts, analytics, coaching, big trades/free agent signings, pay your studs). If they are constantly not wanting to spend money until they absolutely have to, time we have the same energy. Unless I see major changes I plan on only attending away games. Which ones? Bates, sure, but they signed and drafted several bad DBs to replace him thus far. Reader? Was unable to play to start the season so they weren't going to pay him. They don't know how to draft or mentor good down lineman or edge rushers. Sample, Ossai, and Murphy are useless and HAVE been. Chizobe in Tennessee is on IR there. It isn't what they lost, it's that they haven't gained anything. In there awful effort to be cheap and stay the same they failed again. If Bates and Reader were still here they wouldn't help. You have to evolve. The Bungles don't evolve. You add to talent you don't just try and replace with the goal to stay the same. It does not work, players get hurt, they age, performance gets sporadic. The nature of this game. The Chiefs, Bills, Ravens, Lions, Eagles, are not the same or do they stay the same year after year.

lou has had good games against the chiefs that made his reputation. he's only had 1 top ten defense in his tenure. he's only had 2 top 20 defenses in his tenure. an average year for lou is a bottom half defense. the bengals have spent tons of draft capital and free agency money on his defense. he doesn't have a great track record. by the way, the two years lou had a top twenty defense, the bengals played in the afc championship. give burrow a semi-competent defense and the bengals will be a contender

I’ve been a Bengals fan since 1975. And this ownership isn’t going to spend money on big time players. And Dick Tobin isn’t no better. You can’t let your good talent leave and expect other players to fill the spot. They should have never let DJ Reader go and Jesse Bates. Our defense sucks and we need help. I’m not saying Lou shouldn’t be held accountable for some of the defense problems but ownership and Tobin aren’t helping none.

I guess it's better to be late than never. You guys about two years late. The Brown family is the root problem but that can't be changed. Zac is a below average coach and just like Ryan Day, he's been blessed with incredible talent that hides their lack of leadership and coaching skills. Zac has never had a strong running game (blame the players), Joe takes brutal sacks/hits (blame the players), 1st and goal at the 3 yard line, pass, pass, pass, kick field goal (blame the players). I get it though, it's easier to blame the players than the real problems.

What is really missing from this conversation is the fact that, at the end of the day, the actual responsibility for this disaster is the guy who put this team together - Duke Tobin. He’s the guy who drafted all the busts, signed all those FA busts, paid (or didn’t pay) players, and hired the coaches. Yes, LA isn’t do a good job, but who’s the guy who hired him, put the defense together, and let it happen? And nothing will change until he’s gone.

Not only do the Bengals let great players walk, ie, Bates, Reader, etc., but Brown, Blackburn and Tobin do it in incredibly stupid ways. Example: Let’s low ball Reader and then offer him the same amount the Lions did when the gave real money. I don’t blame Reader for telling the Bengals to shove it, especially when he was a great team and individual player. They played a similarly stupid game with Mixon, as well. A well balanced offense keeps the defense off the field and doesn’t put so much pressure on oline and QB. It’s hero ball every game for burrow and most games teams don’t win when QB throw the ball 50+ times. Fire the whole coaching staff and bring in Bill B. Instead respect from players. The players don’t respect Zac and company. This is why the effort isn’t there. Can’t tackle, can’t block and that’s all effort! Leadership just isn’t there

The Bengals need tough coaching. The likes of Bill Cowher or Dan Campbell is what Cincinnati needs. Of course, a general manager and scouting department like the Ravens or other perennial contenders have would be necessary too. The '21 and '22 seasons were anomalies. That was great players refusing to lose in spite of mediocre coaching. Those players are mostly gone now and the coaching staff has been exposed for who they are.

Taylor has let the team sleep walk in to every season hoping to catch fire at the end of the season with a “healthier team” than the one on the other sideline… Lou is a good coach but has made decisions on the defensive staff that fails to develop the players that he has been given and sometimes has been too stubborn to take a chance on a player that he has sitting around waiting on a chance to make a play.

Time to clean house. Zac had 2 good years and one Super Bowl appearance. But that was because of Burrow/Chase and the other good players they had. Anarumo's defense was never great... just average. But the last 2 years the defense is a shambles. thats on Tobin, Taylor and Anarumo. you can't fix the Bengals by changing a couple of assistants and adding a player here or there. It wont fix Taylor's coaching and playcalling which are subpar. It wont get the Bengals a better start of the season instead of always going 0-2 or 0-3 that puts them in a deep hole every year. The O line despite Free agency and some questionable draft picks is below average and gets Burrow killed every year in the pocket. Both his injuries that shelved his seasons were related to terrible O line play. That having been said i doubt that Mike Brown does anything. They'll keep Taylor and their staff mostly intact and ride this horse till it drops and the bottom falls out of attendance. I usually travel the 8 hours to see at least one Bengals home game a year but not this year. after the 0-3 start i could see the hand writing on the wall as can any fan with a functioning neuron.

11:00 Top 5 coach in the NFL? In what dimension will the Bengals HC job attract a top 5 coach? They don't even have a top 5 coach in their division of 4 teams.

James presents a compelling argument for firing Zac. He asks a straightforward question: Is Zac even a top 10 coach? The answer is no; he's not in the top 5 or the top 10. Considering he's had Burrow as his QB for most of his five-year tenure with Joe, his ranking continues to fall. No head coach and quarterback duo has ever won their first Super Bowl after being together for five years. Believing Zac Taylor will be the first to achieve this is unrealistic. Any ownership group or GM who thinks otherwise is equally misguided. It's time for a change. The milk has gone sour.

The head coach is responsible for in game decisions and making sure their team is prepared. year after year you have seen them starting the season and games slow. it shows a lack of preparation that good coaches have. Not allowing rookies to play, not making changes in assistant coaches who obviously are failing, and consistently making poor decisions that lead to losses. Joe burrow covers as many faults as he can, but we're closely approaching the point of no return for ruining his career by poor decision making at an organizational level. When a team has an MVP qb and receiver but only has 4 wins, the head coach is the person responsible, he's the captain and his career should be over in cincinnati

Zac helping with the defense and the defense being better is the best joke James has had in years of LoB.

I hate to say this, but I think Zac is the Andy Dalton of coaches. He's really likeable and has done some great things, but he's just not the guy to get us where we want to go.

Zac is a top 5 coach with a well Built team… R U SERIOUS. Joe needs blame, we’ve been in every game this year. Joe has missed ALOT of throws in the 4th quarter this year. Burton deep twice against KC. He missed Chase deep last game with 1 minute left and season on the line. Zac brings his A game every week even his wife said it. Give the man his credit, you got players saying they’re hurt on Friday and not just a game but 3-4 games straight. Has to deal with A GM/Scout who obviously doesn’t know how to make decisions or any convincing to his owner on things he knows are better for the team.. us not playing Bates still kills me after we watched him grow in our system for 5 years. It’s horrible and it really sucks to be a Bengals fan rn

They should change the decision makers who picked all the failed defensive players they drafted the last 4 years. These are the same coaches who took them to the playoffs and superbowl. Do you think Lou wanted to get rid of DJ Reader and our pro bowl safety and Chino.

Offense scored 24 points Special teams points (8) and defensive points (6) were not scored by offense As long as Ja'Marr is on this team, offense should never get credit for any special teams points

If they can get a LEGENDARY head coach, I’m talking Sabin or Belichick, pull the trigger. If not, build around Zack, no point in bringing in another middling coach. Why aren’t we talking about any of these big name coaches floating around?

It’s too bad firing Zach Taylor and Lou won’t fix the core problem, which is ownership and GM. Why does the defense suddenly suck, even though it was good before with the same coaching staff? Because you let star players walk in FA, like DJ Reader and Jessie Bates and then relied on typical bad drafting by the Bengals organization to replace those key players.

It don't matter what coaching change you make when the front office is afraid to spend money on more than one player. We have had the same shit GM since 1999. But NOT ONE beat writer want's to hold Duke accountable, or hell even the Blackburns. You can fire any coach and you will still have the same issue with the blind leading the blind in the front office.

Slow starts every year. Many losses in 1 score games..... Zach has to go!!! Those are VERRY important pieces for a head coach. Lou is fine... I would like to see ANY Defencive coach do well with all our players who left, all the players hurt this year. And Duke Tobin picking garbage in the draft and free agency. Fire Zac and other coaches who are underperforming. WE ARE 4 AND 8.We suck right now
