We need someone to directly ask someone in charge...and when they ask the question directly, they should have in their hands: Baron Zemo and however many Power Rangers figures that Hasbro has made with pointy white hoods. "Hey, can we get a Classified hooded Cobra Commander?" *wave figures in hands around for emphasis if necessary

The only people who could be asked that question directly by the consumer probably want it just as bad as everyone else. Things become a little convoluted the higher up it goes I think. Their concerns are more connected to the perception of the company by people we will never be acquainted with.

most importantly Fresh monkey is doing a Hooded figure in a suit that looks exactly like CC. When this hits the market, Hasbro will start working on theirs. Look how fast they copied Valaverse Ghillie suits and Infantry troopers.

Maybe. Maybe not. The Fresh Monkey version looks cool, but It's a mix of a bunch of different IP's. As for copying Valaverse, GiJoe didn't copy anything from them. They are literally using old Hasbro IP for troop builders, and GiJoe have had ghillie suits way longer than Valaverse has been around. The 60th anniversary figures are a legacy line... Hence it being the 60th anniversary of the brand. I dig the concept of Action Force, but man I really wish it had been something original, and not just reuse of older names. I would like to think that Bobby has more talent than that.

@@TheIslandViper the point is that when Fresh monkey's Hooded figure comes out, i know they will feel pressure to release Hooded CC. Its a special kind of jealousy to watch another company make money from something you feel originally belonged to your company. the dark suit from Fresh Monkey looks almost exactly like the Hasbro Podium CC in business suit that was a SDCC excl. Do you think they will see it and say "we still wont do it because Bonaventure has a problem with it, we can pass on the money." while customers want it and other companies are making it? BTW Vala made the alternate ethnic heads for troopers before Hasbro copied it for the TeleVipers and 60th anniversary. that idea makes troop builders sell in greater numbers because it makes displays more realistic.

Yeah it's called a spec script. Studios use staff writers (or AI now usually) to churn out generic scripts and producers can just plug in their character names instead of paying writers to make good material. It saves so much money that even though the movie tanked, Paramount & Hasbro can just claim it as a tax writeoff and make a profit anyway.

$110m budget, with a $40m worldwide gross. Man it could have been modernized, and actually a good movie. It really sucks that, even if we had film makers in the collector community, the only ones who would be allowed to make a movie are the likes of Di Bonaventura. There are a couple of indie shorts out there, but I'd love to see a feature length indie GiJoe film, fan made.

​@@TheIslandViper gi joe was a yearly thing. if you were in school while collecting, each year was a different grade for you. 1985 felt very different from 1987, more so as kids. some of us may have quit the brand after a certain year. I quit around 1993 because of the new designs like the battle corps viper. others may have skipped certain years like 1988, 1989. they're mixing the releases and not exactly following the actual chronological order on purpose. with this selling strategy, we may buy some figures we never considered while waiting for our old favorites. I deliberately didn't buy Raptor as a kid but I did PRE order the classified version. they tested this tactic with 25th anniversary and with Star Wars figures.

@@zartanicus That makes more sense considering it's been what I've seen a lot of lately. I find that a lot of collectors who want so much early stuff just made in 6"... They're around 10 years older than me. Most of them stopped collecting, and stopped being interested, around the late 80's. Some into the 90's, but not as many. They didn't bother with any of the later offerings, especially early 2000's. Now it's like Classified has brought them back. I never stopped with GiJoe, not completely, from around 1988 to current. Almost all of the lines offered in that time frame. Some were obviously more interesting than others, and better than others, but I have always been into it. I've narrowed my collection focus, sold off parts of it, bought whole new sections of it, but was always excited for something new. That's probably why I don't care for the same thing made over again so much.

Yes, absolutely. They made a hooded Baron Zemo (who is a ratzi) and Lighting Collection's Ninjetti White Ranger. If you separate him from the team he looks a little "clannish." AND Fresh Monkey Fiction is planning Red, Green, and Blue hooded figures. Unfortunately, I feel that we will never get Hooded CC or Dress Marine Gung-Ho (Hasbro would need approval from the USMC). Just make it a Pulse exclusive to avoid the non-fan busy body's who see one in Target and write angry letters to Hasbro. They could even blur the head on the Pulse listing. True Joe fans will know what's there.

I don’t think the timeline really matters, as it doesn’t have to follow the 80’s timeline, nor has it. It does however need to be on correct body, and on a retro cardback. That would be the MMCC, and mass market retro CC bodies. Hell even the lower half of the OAMCC.

Love to see V5 and V6. If they do a V2 I need it classic as well but in BOXED classified, same as Armor CoCo, they need to stop retro'ing and pushing the tons of nasty tattoos. Just make a good figure with the added detail that couldn't be there at 3.75 and stop giving terrible paint apps, and retro even more terrible paint apps with terrible garbage load outs. Put the money of a single figure aside and do proper load outs. I can do without an extra figure or two a year if Hasbro just gave better load outs.

I'd much rather the figures be updated to reflect a more modern take, than to be the same tired old designs that we have gotten multiple times over. Retro designs belong on the Retro cards. I would like to see some better loadouts, but at that point something like Mezco seems to be exactly what you're describing. High quality, tons of accessories, and all of the detail that was missing form the 3.75" line. I honestly thing people expect way too much from a mass retail $25 action figure for kids aged 3 and up.
