Incredible Explanation, crystal clear on the subject now. Was exploring this concept today. I definetly felt the difference. I was getting too in front at landing and it wasn't feeling right. Then I started trying this during the linear portion (dropping a little more than usual) and I felt an interesting improvement at landing. I will try to measure speed next week cos I noticed different hop on FB.

Could you please do another video on drills for the drop? Would love some more drills

Do hitters also generate that giddy up? I know pitchers have longer strides but hitters also place a lot of weight on their back foot.

I am a guy who leaks forward with the upper half in the linear move. What are the best drills to fix this?

Mayeb the clevinger drill would work

Identifying the root of the issue is priority #1. Is the problem physiological? Is the problem patterning based? Backchaining from the flaw itself can be a successful way to not only determine the root cause but develop a plan of attack accordingly.

I love your stuff…but for a High School Pitching coach….Im not always working with guys who are athletic enough to control their body in space and so “stay back” is a great cue for certain folks. Believe me I wish every guy I have was willing/able to do these things. But, for the ones who are pitchers from January to April and that’s it…..stay back, get balanced, up down glide, etc is what it HAS to be.

And also, what a guy like me cant really get into those positions like jacob, for me things like my IT bands hurt when i spread out my legs apart. So then i feel like i almost have to stay back and stay vertical.

Work on hip mobility, you can get into good positions if you improve strength/stability through that range of motion

Identifying your hip structure whether you favor ER/IR can be helpful when problem solving your lower half. Great place to start would be: Daddy Hack Progression: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3ivq5V7gspnp9E ER vs IR Dominance: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iH2qhHidZd14m6s

Coach Brewster. LOVE all your vids! Noticed that 1st pitcher in this vid jerks/ slings his head heavily to 1B at ball release. Any comments on this? I do something similar. Is it BAD? Does this affect command, or is accuracy/ command already "baked in the cake" before actual ball release? Thanks!

It's like making your body stretch out longer once you move forward out of leg kick ... That's how I interpret "staying back."

But what about a guy like Shane Bieber
@treadathletics3 жыл бұрын
Same concepts apply with Shane Bieber, controlled initial move or "Drift", drop into the linear move, rotation into FFS. Now he does show a slight degree of torso lateral flexion but does remain stacked throughout his linear move. Not every transition from the drift to linear move is going to be the same, but the underlying concepts remain constant.
