I think you are speaking on artists that don't put out new music. Tons of rappers are touring (reunion and 90s tours w/other artists). He's also spinning it to meet his thought. Rappers that are over 40 that are BIG names have moved into making 10 and 20 times the money they made in music by doing other things (Ice Cube, Snoop, Dre, 50 Cent, JayZ, etc). The music game is not the same and profitability is nonexistent if done in the manner those artists came up in. Stopping at 40 for those artists is moving into ownership of things that will keep them relevant without rapping.

There are obviously very low standards for what is "nice" these days. I haven't heard anyone under 35 put out anything good in years.

U *had* to have certain types of lyrical skills, u had to have style and be original ("or everybody gonna wanna diss u" - KRS One 😂).
