Should the Colts Invest Big in Gardner Minshew as a Backup QB? He was able to get his first NFL Pro Bowl nod and helped lead the Colts to a winning record. He would command a large amount of money to stick around.

In the upcoming NFL draft, the Colts can pick QB Joe Milton in around the third round for backup to QB Anthony Richardson. At the Senior Bowl QB Joe Milton's football passing was timed at 76 mph. He can pass the football about 70 yards down the football field.

Joe Milton's overall performance during Senior Bowl week wasn't that impressive and I believe he will fall somewhere between the 4th or 5th rounds. The Coaches that the Colts have could get him ready to be a really good backup to Richardson in a year or so. That is why they should also pick up a QB in Free Agency to back up Richardson for a couple of years until Milton is ready for that role.

Draft a Duel Threat QB later in the draft that way, if AR misses a couple of games, Steichen doesn't need to change the offense... I doubt that the Colts are going to pay the money Minshew is going to ask for... we also have other players who need to be resigned...

The Colts need to do both, build around and behind Anthony Richardson. If Richardson gets hurt again and Minshew is the Backup QB, they will almost make it to the Playoffs again, but will end up on the outside looking in. Minshew showed me that he can't get them there. Sam Ehlinger can't either.

Dude the Colts were a bad team this year. Minshew was a big reason they got as far as they did. The D gave up the most points in the entire AFC. Did you even watch the games? Colts won't make the playoffs this year. @@SteveCottingham

I say we don't fall back on the cushion of mediocrity. Richardson has to be on the field and the Colts need to see what they have. I'd rather it is bust or boom. Minshew made it interesting but that is not what we want in 2024.

How can you build about uncertainty?? We don't know if AR is going to pan out or stay healthy. What if this coming season is like last season? With a QB like this you better have a good back up, whether it's Minshew or drafting one. I'm sicking of seeing poor QB play by these QBs the last 5 years. Address the issue!!! I love all these people saying AR this and AR that, oh he's gonna be the greatest thing since sliced bread. When he proves he can stay in the field and do great things, then I'll be the first to jump on the band wagon, but until then the colts should be prepared to have a good backup. Sorry guys, I've been a colts fan since 1962 and I've seen to many bad things happen and teams had no way to fix the issue so I'm all in on drafting another QB in this draft!!!!!!

I agree. So why not draft a young QB. Now they have 2 QBs on rookie deals for at least 3 years. Makes perfect sense to me.

The team hasn’t had stability behind center for years. I say keep them both - they both rallied this team. Atleast for this year I really think we need to retain most of our guys from 2023, and with the unpopular opinion I think Minshew is closer to the top of the list. Winning guys creates a winning culture. Let’s see how much further we can take this team with the gained experience of last year.

Not sure what the Colts offered but if they could have kept him they made a mistake. It's very hard to come in off the bench cold when you get no 1st team snaps, no chemistry with the first team, and no live action. That is Minshew's calling card. Add in the fact AR has been knocked out of 3 of his first 4 starts. That's not a fluke. They're gonna run him and teams are gonna hit him.

Im.just saying anothony should be amazing im very confident in that but, he got hurt early, minshew played pretty good all year with lets be honest a very avrage offense so sign him to a 2 year and if richardson is a bust we have a potential to still be good enough

Guys I have been saying it all year... Colts have a bottom of the barrel wr group, Pitts is a dog. Downs is a nice slot guy. The rest ae backups on most teams. Can't win with 2 good receivers. Not resigning Moss was a big mistake. Ballard would be rode out of town if he was the Eagles GM. He's the ultimate con man. He doesn't wanna win. Just look at Pitt. How do they not extend him after year #3? That is a a head scratcher. Now they had to pay him much more. Who the heck did they think AR was gonna throw to if they lost Pitt? Major major error from the GM.
