It just... doesn't sound good. It has that raspy weird sound that I'm just not a fan of. I think ford is shooting themselves in the foot here, but that's just me. I'll have to see how the sales numbers are after a few years of this model.

Currently recovering from an inguinal hernia surgery. I hope it's keyhole instead of open. I was open, over two months on now but still unable to do many things such as running. All the best with it. Hope you can drive soon after. Here in the UK it was illegal for me to drive within two weeks of surgery. Get well soon bro

I really like this video David!! This autocross course was cool!! The new Edge ST is sweet and I love it, but I do miss the Focus RS!! I love the new Edge ST though unlike most people and my dad has a 2013 Edge Sport and it’s so awesome it’s such a sleeper!! Have you seen the new 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 yet?? I think it’s pretty cool for what it is. I think people are trying to make it something it’s not and getting whiny about it. It’s just an edge with a performance package. It’s not meant to be a focus or a fiesta.

...well, if Ford still sold the focus or fiesta ST in the US, we wouln't be so pissed about this sad excuse for a 'performance' crossover. Ford is pushing this as the replacement for those cars, and it's the saddest sequel since Jaws 2. I was looking forward to the next gen Focus and Fiesta ST, and it looks like I'll be taking my business elsewhere when it comes time to replace my 13' ST Also, the irony of this test is that this vehicle would never be allowed to autocross in SCCA events due to it's center of gravity presenting a rollover risk.

Coasterteen22 it was just a course to have fun with the car. That’s it. Also if they was selling enough of them in the US to continue doing so they would. Obviously sales for these cars wasn’t good. Ford hasn’t been in business as long as they have not knowing what they are doing.

@@WoodyRides Ford just recently announced mass layoffs, and their stock price is on a concerning downward slope. I don't think this is a direct result of their recently announced changes, but I do believe that Ford isn't a paradigm of wisdom when it comes to market prediction either. I'm just disappointed that they have given up on enthusiasts for the most part. There was a long time where I was impressed with Ford and what they were doing, but not anymore.

@@Coasterteen22 The thing many of the complainers don't realize is this car isn't targeted to the same customer as the Fiesta and Focus ST. The Edge ST if for a more mature buyer that needs something more practical and still have some fun with it when it isn't in the Wall-Mart parking lot. If people think they're upset with the Edge ST, wait until the Explorer ST arrives.

I'm gonna be that guy: Testing the Edge ST (or any larger vehicle for that matter) on an autocross track, let alone one this small is sort of pointless. I'm not saying I'm a fan of vehicles like this, but it's at an unfair disadvantage, as the vehicle is obviously not designed for a slow and super tight course, but would really show its real potential on a faster, more GT style course But also, this is just a fun little not serious event, so dont listen to my little rant lol

I think that was the point of the autocross course. So you can see how much fun the "big goofy SUV" can do around a course like that. Saw some other reviews and everyone seemed to be impressed at its handling.

SUV's will never be fun. Parking spaces will become wider and longer meaning less places to park. The U.S. roads may be larger than the UK, but that will soon change. Not everyone wants an SUV or Crossover. Besides I don't need all that space and drive enough trucks for a living lol.

@@harrisonf780 Alright well, I live in NY on LongIsland, so both suburban and city streets are becoming more narrow due to the increase in SUV's and Crossovers. I drive my parents '02 Tahoe sometimes and it's a pain to find spots in busy areas and parking lot spaces are tighter (people's horrible parking habits also plays a factor) You gotta realize there are parking spaces specifically designed for cars, trucks and SUV's. Crossovers and SUV's are longer and wider than cars plus, they now have class sizes. Meaning based on the area, businesses and towns have to create a specific size and amount of parking spots based on survey's of resident vehicles in that particular area. There is always a cause & effect to everything.

Most new businesses have bigger spots than older businesses unless a street or parking lot is re-paved. I've never seen so many SUV's and Crossovers in my life! I'm a nostalgic person so, it takes time for me to adjust to change since I get used to things unless it's technology. I love trucks, but rather drive and tune a car than drive and manuever an SUV that weighs a ton and horrible CG, lol.
