Bought a ‘24 4Runner TRD ORP in September. Now, they’re basically gone. NA V6, 5-speed, hydraulic power steering, manual transfer case, analog gauges, no giant screen sticking up above the dash…simple and reliable. Hope to drive it for 20 years!

I think this video is a little late to the game b/c there aren’t any new 5th generation 4Runners left to buy anywhere. Because they are (were) in such demand, previously owned is basically you’re only option now. Glad I was able to pick up a ‘24 TRD Pro 4Runner on 5/11/24 to hang onto. Good video though - they really are that reliable because they are simple comparatively speaking and this vehicle has been produced/refined for 15 years. The drive train has been around for awhile even before the 5th generation 4Runner. It was in the FJ Cruiser and the 4th generation 4Runner before that. Built to last and keep.

Same! I picked one a 2024 TRD ORP just before they ran out. I think I may have gotten the last TRD ORP because after mine, my dealership never received more. I bought mine in August 2024. After I got mine, my dealership got three more 4Runners. An SR5 and two Limited 2wd. After those went, I never saw anymore 4Runners.

We own a 2014 FJ Cruiser and a 2021 4Runner and when I put them side by side and lift up the hood the engine compartments are identical. We've owned Toyota 4runners since 1992 and it seems like the break in period is around 200k miles. What I remember of our 1992 4Runner at 60mph the tachometer would read around 2800. With the 2021 @60mph it barely gets to 2,000 rpm. 4Runners additionally are the perfect travel and Costco vehicles. When you buy something big at Costco you can make it fit. And you can go crazy buying large items because there's lots of room. There's so many things to like about the 4Runner and after watching all of these videos on KZbin I'm glad we stuck by them.

@@breeze787 Here's the really neat thing. The biggest item I ever bought via Costco* was our new 5th Gen Toyota 4Runner SR5 Premium and it hauled itself home. : ) *Costco Auto buying program...what a great way to buy a new car.

Best all-around vehicle you can buy! Have had about 40 different vehicles and my 1996, 2000, and 2023 4Runners have been absolutely perfect, unlike my Land Rovers, Mercedes, BMW's, etc. etc. Always had a Toyota alongside all the other vehicles because I could always depend on the Toyota, the others not so much!

If you decide to buy, good luck landing even an allocation for Toyotas last money printer lol. Just got my 4R & had to get in touch with 15 dealerships to get one new. Finally did it. Scored a TRD Pro in Terra. Absolutely difficult to get. It was easier getting a 24’ Civic type r

We just picked up a '24 TRD ORP las month. Our daughter will be driving in 3 years and it will be hers. My lifted '07 is still in the driveway and is gonna find a new home soon.Had an '03 V8 Limited and sold my '88 a couple of years ago, original owner........yes I have slight regrets about the '88. Will definitely pick up a 6th gen, but not for a while.

I’ll wait and buy a bulletproof 27 4R. The 25 may have a few issues, but not too many since it shares a lot with the Taco. The 24 4R is dated and kind of slow. I see very few differences compared to my 18. My 18 4R is barely faster than my 4 cylinder Taco.

Great vid, even if a little heavy on the hyperbole -- 2million miles, lol. I bought a second 4R when I realized they were going to a turbo 4cyl. Toyota has destroyed their reputation to design reliable new vehicles. Any Toyota without that bulletproof reliability is just an overpriced nissan or Kia. I prefer an old simple design built in Japan. Not toyotas fault, but it is literally illegal to ever build a truck this simple again. They have been scraping by, barely getting this thing to pass emissions for YEARS. I hope to own both of mine until I'm gone.

The only problem with the 4Runner, much like the Tacoma, is the seating position is awful, though can be much improved with seat jackers. Still love mine... but it has the seat jackers and a Pedal Monster lol

Had two 4Runners in a row. Both developed severe frame rot. I will not buy another 4Runner. Instead, I purchased a new 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. After almost 7 years and 138,000 miles, it has been 100% reliable and more importantly, the chassis looks great, no rust to worry about.

5th gen 4runner was designed and built by a generation of responsible men who care about quality and durability. Newly built cars are flimsy, disposable, and unreliable which is just a manifestation of the people who are making them and is the sign of the times.🥱
