After owning X5s for the last 10 years, i bit the bullet and bought an L494 V6 with 90k on it.. Lovely car never misses a beat! but Im a BMW man at heart. I might be giving you a call in the future! keep up the good work.

I had a MY14.5 and now a MY21, the second (major) facelift, one of the last made before the series 3. In my opinion, this is the car the RRS always should have been! Brings a smile to my face every time I drive it.

Great video....Bought my 2015 RRS 3.0 SDV6 in 2016 ran it for 88k mils until Feb 2023 and having had a Disco 4 HSE diesel for 90k miles before (both without any hiccups) I wanted a change so after much deliberation the last two months I'm running a 2019 Porsche Cayenne (20k on clock with lots of good extras, sunroof, 18 point seats etc etc)...Cayenne an amazing car, drives like a fast saloon , dynamic, practical (boot same as RRS etc) but can honestly say I miss RRS already....I totally get why people stick with LR despite various flaws. They have soul. Cayenne is perfect german efficiency but just lacks any character. Ok they are both just cars but it's about the feeling you get when in it. My RRS got used properly in long distance trips from Kent to Scottish Highlands and Islands in mid winter, in awful weather (rain and snow) and even with all season (not winter) tyres it coped with everything easily. (Cayenne I wouldn't even take it out in snow/ice as it'd be like a 911 unless I spent £6k on new wheels and tyres just for winter !) Also I'm 6ft3 and some cars (like X5 previously etc) after 4-5 hours driving I'd have to stop for a break (leg/back ache etc)..the RRS I drove from Kent to north Skye in one day (12 hours) and equally numerous other 8-10 hours drives and the miles just float by and you get out the other end as if it's been 2 hours journey. LR seats are the best in the mkt not just because of the seat but the vital positioning of arm/elbow rests both sides. Cayenne very poor in that respect (as was new X5 and Audi Q5's I sat in)......If you get a wrong 'un then clearly you'll be stuffed but my experience is a lot of issues are from new. My recommendation is get a 10-25k mileage with good service history from a good dealer. ..**Footnote' Had my Cayenne 2 months and a fault already (electronic steering column up/down function stopped working, in/out ok) , doesn't concern me as being fixed under warranty but reliability is all relative ! Cayenne great car to run this summer (just done great run down to Cornwall and back 5-6 hours each way) but suspect I'll be going back to LR before winter

Thanks so much! I absolutely love my L494, it’s currently on 168K miles, I’ve just come back from a few days of driving through Europe and it was faultless and so comfortable. You’ve had some lovely cars, I’ve driven them all too and agree with your comments. I don’t think I could come away from the Range Rover though 😅

Agree. Swapped my 7 year old RRS MY 14.5 for an Audi Q8. It spent 9 weeks of the 18 months I had it in the shop! Now back where I belong in a 2021 RRS.

SDV6 feels fantastic, but it's poorly designed. If you are buying second hand, the service history is critical, but more important is how it's been driven. They break To hear the presenter describe it as being QUICK, should worry that crap out of a buyer
@condorvehiclesalesltd Жыл бұрын
I completely agree regarding the service history and of course know that they have their issues such as the inlet manifolds splitting etc, I just don’t think that they’re worse than any other manufacturer and definitely offer great comfort and luxury!

@@condorvehiclesalesltd I've owned Discovery, still have v8. Absolutely love them. Mrs still has her 2015 Freelander, so I'm fully into LR. BUT, the SDV6 has a serious design flaw. If it's been driven hard, and those ridiculous 24,000km services have been used, rather than 12,000km, then you have a ticking time bomb on your hands. I'm sorry to say it, I've been so close to buying a new one for 4 years, but each time my head takes over at the last moment. Nothing but tears waiting there.

I wonder what this guys problem was... snapped TDV6 crankshaft or did he get an Ingenium with DPF problems 🤷♂ ...anyway, there's a reason Landys are so popular. Once you've owned one, it's difficult to find anything that comes close.

@@RangeRover_Engine_Failure Happened to my mate's Disco too. I'd love to get a Rangie Sport next, but I don't want to take the risk to be honest. Been looking at the Macan & Cayenne, but they're just as troublesome with the crankcase and transfer box problems...
