Seems like a solid choice for a home server for storing files and photos. Cheap backup drives. Grab 2 of these and get rid of google drive.

I bought the cx2 ssd to replace my 10 year Hitachi HDD 1tb. Its getting slow and make noise so I just needed a quiet and faster and more secure (no disk) storage, not caring really about the speed.

ordered one for $66 this week. it's looking okay as a budget option as of writing this post. maybe worth a RAID 1 or RAID 10 setup to compensate its lackluster performance

Since this is a Team Group product it would have been very useful to include the Team Group PCIe 3.0 SSD in the benchmarks. Not very many will have a PCIe 4.0 motherboard. There are 2 models, the MP33 and MP34. I have the MP34 1 TB PCIe 3.0 SSD (M.2 2280) on a plug in PCIe x4 adapter in my Dell T3610 , E5-2667 v2 cpu (8C/16T @ 3.3 to 4.0 GHz), 16 GB of DDR3-1833 ECC ram, and latest Windows 10 Pro. CrystalDiskMark 7 = 3.35 GB/s read, 2.95 GB/s write ATTO 4.01.0f1 = 3.23 GB/s read, 2.75 GB/s write Team Group 1 TB MP34 = 575.7 GB used, 447.7 free space. Note: The MP34 is the desired PCIe 3.0 version to get as it uses the performance improved Phison E12 controller (but it costs a little more) over the MP33.

Why no Samsung 870 EVOs in the tests? Thanks.

My experience with that brand was disastrous, I bought 2 ssds 3 years ago, I used them to install them in laptops, I installed the system on both and from there I could never use them again, I formatted them with different applications to reuse them, and I was never able to delete the first system I install and always throw me error. In other words, they were for one and only use. Disposables. I never used that brand again. I do not recommend them, I prefer to pay a little more for another brand like WD, Kingston, Hp, Hyundai and even a new one like PNY Technology, they are better.

I bought an M.2 ssd from this brand. I only got to use it for just 1 year. Bios couldn't detect the damn thing.

I need help with this SSD, maybe you can help me. I have had this ssd for about a year and every time i download something or mess with any files, my computer lags soooo bad. I am a person that downloads a lot of things onto my PC and this is really bugging me.

so i should avoid buy this ssd ?
@EbonySaints2 жыл бұрын
@@GhostRider-zr5fh If you are limited to SATA only, you might have some better options with larger cache sizes like the Samsung 870 EVO or the Crucial MX500, but Team Group is about the last stop on the quality to price train before you start going into sketchy town. Please note that both of those are about $50 more expensive as of now, so it's up to you if you want to shell out that much for performance. If you have a HDD for your main storage, almost any new SSD, SATA or PCIe, is going to be a drastic upgrade. What it probably suffers from is poor random R/W performance, which sucks, but at or below $180 for 2TB, it's a fair trade off for that much storage for that cheap.

I got one of their older SSD the GX1, its pushing 5-6 years old and needs replacement, these and the CX2 doesn't have the SMART features, but they are okay for a while, the GX1 was rated for 3 years and I'm feeling satisfied with the one I bought for about 100$ for 1 tb in 2018. Its just you probably should jury rig some fans to blow directly onto your hard drive cage if you get something like this since it doesn't have SMART monitoring tech and you might end up getting a overheating piece without ever even knowing it (short of pointing a laser thermometer directly onto it). I'm thinking of getting a 1TB vulcan Z from team group, they got SMART and they are around 85-95$ , yeah, its pretty good for a budget piece. Its pulled this big rig that I added a lot onto.

So your GX1 is already 5-6 years old?
@Goatisme2 жыл бұрын
@@ulfricstormcloak7142 yep, am in the market for upgrading it since its starting to slow down a bit. It would probably work well if I did format it ? But yeah its still going fine and running next gen games and browsing pretty fast but its having a few hang ups sometimes and its surely the age starting to show.
