I was a longhaul trucker my entire adult life. I was a quiet introverted child and when I grew up, trucking fit my personality perfectly. Alone, I was always happy and content. I’m old, and retired now and I still prefer the company of no one but my wife. To be sociable in person is an extremely uncomfortable thing that I’m able to force myself to endure for short periods. Have a good life kids.

Other than not seeing family, trucking does sound like a perfect fit for someone who's more on the introverted side. Thanks BC.

I'm from a country where homeschooling is banned unless you are travelling for an extended period or you participate in a movie or similar. From my perspective, I would like to see it being permitted for 50% of the year, so like january to june, or july to december, in grades 1-6. During this time, you'd still participate in the tests remotely to ensure you're keeping the standard. If satisfactory standard is not met, an evaluation must be done. The reasoning for only half the year would be for social reasons for the child. As well as the teachers having time to try and spot issues at home. For example abuse and Dyslexia/adhd/autism etc. They need time to be able to spot this. For parents to be allowed to teach, they have to do tests themselves in the subjects and pass. I honestly do not know how it works in countries where homeschooling is not uncommon. But, I actually worry about having people too like minded in your surroundings. I'd worry about things like flat earth society grabbing hold. The main cons to common school in my area according to me: It sucks for people living far away. I had a classmate who had a 1.5h commute each way, daily. We do however have amazing free transport to and from school that picks you up every day if you are not within the normal bus/train routes. Then you 'only' get a free ticket. Problems not being taken seriously enough in terms of teachers being bad, or students interrupting lectures. Lack of "hard skills" like sales, crafting, repairs etc. We have it to an extent but only for ~2h per week during 2 years.
