The first 15 seconds I thought my video was frozen because Mike the robot was standing so still.

Bringing some reason to this madness. The volume hype got me stalled out for months, while working out more, all the while eating 4-5k calories based on solid meals and sleepong ~9 hours/night. And I always go hard in the gym. It’s my own fault for being so stupid, but to my defense the ”scientific” consensus lately has been that more is probably better. I thought that listening to the ”science-based” guys would be better than listening to the bros, but honestly I should have just listened to my body all along.

Do you mean that you stalled out because of doing too much volume or too little?

If you look into Chris Beardsley’s work- he helps to give a clearer picture on what really matters. Hint: volume isn’t the only piece of the puzzle.

Looking leaner, mike! How do you tell when an increase in volume is necessary? When performance stalls/drops? If that's the case how do you know volume is the variable that is responsible for that?

@@rch6956 if you're getting an increase in performance (as indicated by the same load with a lower RPE), why would you change anything?

If you're not progressing and not feeling beat up, then increasing volume is a potential solution. I usually try as much other stuff as I reasonably can first though. It's harder to go backward in volume.

Isn’t volume really about moving an advanced PL through a plateau
