Make sure when exercising delts or any other muscle, you train the weakest head first, which in most cases will be posterior delt. Then medial head. Last the anterior head. The anterior usually is the fastest growing head. Use your fresh energy for slow gainers and strongest last.

It prevents you from using body english or momentum from your legs to raise the weight (cheat reps). Forcing you to focus on using solely your deltoids to contract the weight. You can use relatively light weight and focus on muscle contraction. I would advise using a decently padded mat or surface to save the pressure on your knees. Hope this helps.
