Worst thing that ever happened to Rondo was losing Doc. He never really had another coach who realized how smart he was.

Well to be fair, once he had his ACL injury, he was never the same, but his brain gave him at least five more years in the league. He did get another ring with LBJ too, and LBJ immediately recognized Rondo's brilliance.

Hopefully Ray Allen will come on the show TBH. He’s underrated and under appreciated because he sacrificed the most in order for the big 3 to be successful. He was much more than a spot up shooter and stand in the corner guy. I'm 45yo & have watched the C's pretty much my whole life & happy to say that the most games within a season I watched was during that 2007/08 championship run. ... Absolute GREATNESS. Much thanks to any & all involved with it. ... Pierce will always be my all-time favorite, but KG is right behind him. ... Even with his stint in Boston being towards the tail end of his awe inspiring career. Love Doc as well. ... Spectacular coach. Even met him once whilst going through the security line at Logan Airport. Was early August of 2011. Recall that I was flying to the funeral of a long-term friend/brother who passed away during Extortion 17 (Kev Houston) & he was going to the Orlando area to see his family. 🤔 His son might have had some sorta basketball deal going on that he was trying to catch. ... Something like that. Thing that I remember most actually happened before the casual small talk part. I recognized that he was directly behind me & I didn't want to draw attention to him. So, I calmly extended my hand and softly said, "You're a hell of a coach" & he in turn shook my hand & said, "Thank you." Anyways, was a really cool little moment during a dark & tough stretch of life. .... Lifted my spirits. ... Although only a quick moment it was easy to sense that he's a grounded & friendly person. Thanks much for the stories in this clip fellas. ... Best of everything to all of ya 🤠

This is why I forever love Doc. He had the respect of the players, and also gave them respect and space to be themselves. Not a controlling guy, and when it was, like he said, it was to tighten up, not to control the outcome. Such a calming presence to see out there, and I think the players saw that and it rubbed off. I feel like this is why he may struggle to get back into coaching. The NBA has changed so much, as Dame has talked about, with more entitlement and less veteran presence.

Whats crazy to think about was Doc played against Jordan in their primes when Doc was with the Knicks. Then DOc is retired and coaches both KG and Paul pierce. When Jordan was with the Wizards end of his career, Jordan was still lighting up the League and the NEW Prime players such as KG and Paul Pierce~

That team had DYNASTY in them, anyone can see. They were off to an insane start in 09 and then TICKET gets hurt and is out for the season. The following year in "oh 10," everyone is healthy and the momentum is with them to win in game 7...till PERK gets hurt and we can't withstand the assault. If everyone is healthy that's arguably a 3 peat. Remember how Rondo would BALL OUT in the finals? 40 pieces? This team was THE TRUTH. Rings don't ever tell the whole story. Look at KD with those sorry gimme championships for example. The entire story is what you gotta look at. And these dudes are and forever will be LEGENDARY.
That's how money comes into our family
