That last Hyrule Circuit was GORGEOUS. Couple of tiny missteps, for sure, but those tight hallways turns, really solid shroomless shortcuts, and no-shortcut lines were all sweet. That was a race that showcased "If you have skill and practice, the rest of the game can go really well." I looked at the minimap towards the end and was just shocked by how much time had been gained.

4:26 - I think first place just didn’t have protection behind their coin and thought you’d red shell them at any point. So maybe they actually slowed down to try and catch you in the blue shell explosion and crack your red shell in the process, thus also gaining invincibility frames! It could’ve been a genius play, had you not decided to play it safe. They even almost got you!
