As a mother with someone with Autism, its not as easy as just leaving the child with the other parent. My Autistic daughter sometimes only prefers me over her dad. that being said she still should've made time for her daughter at least a few times. Its highly important to show your child who isn't on the spectrum that they are still just as important. She was definitely the asshole for not even trying to make the effort to be there for her daughter.
@SweetThreat Жыл бұрын
100% this has been christinas life since her brother was born, and i think whatever he has is something pretty severe if there's a designated primary caretaker, a nurse involved and he needs 24/7 monitoring. You see it constantly that the neuro typical kids pay the tab for the disabled ones because the parents aren't equipped to pay equal attention to all their kids their dis/ability aside.
@katiemorton4280 Жыл бұрын
100% agree. My son has autism and it’s very difficult but should always make time for all your children and be there for the important moment. Probably easy for me to say as I only have him.
@jarankennedy762 Жыл бұрын
I agree with this. As a father of 2, our oldest has autism. There are days where you wouldn't even know (unless he spoke, he's almost 4 now) and there are days where you can take an educated guess because his truck wasn't where he put it 3 days ago but when myself or my wife had to clean up or vacuum or something we moved it and he's taking hour long tantrums for it, preferring either my wife only speak to her myself only speak to her or neither of us speak to her and we have to call my mother or her mother because that's what he wants (and it's much worse if they aren't available) However, not as serious as first born giving birth to first born, when my wife was pregnant with our oldest, my nephew had a really bad sporting accident, where he was in the hospital and he needed ME, not my mother or his mother and his dad isn't in the picture, just me, there are even times where he's called me his Dad so I took that to heart, trying to show him that a man is there for those that need him. I'd been up almost 2 days straight (hospital) and I was the ticket to him feeling better. Moral of the story, if you have to be up for 2 1/2 days to make sure those that need you have you, that's what you do. So at the very least this woman could've taken an hour out of her day for an ultrasound, me and my wife have had 2 kids, I don't remember an ultrasound taking longer than 30 minutes, except for one where the ultrasound place had an electricity problem like the power cut out for a split second and they had to get everything back online and iirc we had like 4-5 ultrasounds per child.

1:29:06 mom has been casting her daughter aside all Dwight's life. If the dad and the nurse TOGETHER can't handle him, then you need to reassess caregiver standards, your husband needs to step up as his father, and get you a life like independently of juat caregiving. doting on your first baby when shes having her first baby. Alienating your daughter like that all her childhood and 20s for her brother is a dick move.
@emme2141 Жыл бұрын
If the nurse can’t handle him they probably need a new nurse
@Sharauni Жыл бұрын
I feel the same way, if the dad and a NURSE can't handle him for a couple hours, then something is really wrong. But it sounds like this mom has been neglecting the daughter the whole time after the son got diagnosed. The daughter sounded desperate in her need for her mom, and we have to keep in mind this is the mom telling the tale so we know she left a ton of stuff out! I wouldn't be surprised if this was the last straw for the daughter and she cuts all ties with her 'family' because they sure don't seem to care much about her. And honestly I hope she does cut ties! Next we'll see the mom come back with "I wanted nothing to do with my daughter when she was pregnant because of my sons needs and now she won't let me see my grandchild? What do I do?" You go sit down and think about how this is all your fault, you horrible mother, you!
@Rae777 Жыл бұрын
Exactly. I can imagine that the daughter has dealt with that her whole life and just wanted her mom to recognize that she needs her sometimes too. Idk their dynamic, but it seemed like mom just ignored and minimized blaming it on pregnancy hormones instead of acknowledging how her actions can make her daughter feel insignificant. I can imagine mom is probably incredibly stressed but you can’t completely fail to show up for one kid bc the other needs more help.

Whilst my Grandma was dying the carer moved onto my Grandad. After she died he took the carer to the same pub we had the wake at for a meal ... they've been in each others pockets ever since and it's only been 2 months, sick!
