To chime in with the ‘promoting obesity’ conversation - I think a lot of fat people (myself included) is very aware that it isn’t healthy. But the self love and body positivity ‘movement’ is more about saying that even if you are unhealthy, you deserve love and respect. Not about denying facts. And agree - beauty will never be about size.

I think alot of people mistake what self love and body positivity is about . It's not about promoting the bad its about tell people it's okay to love yourself and the truth is in most situations when people get mentally right , the physical follows . Also I hate the it's about health bull cz when you watch these mukbangs with skinny people majority of the comments is not about how unhealthy that life style is when the truth is eating large amounts of unhealthy food is not good for you. People also forget medical reasons as to why people are overweight or struggling with their weight and that irks me to no avail.

About the obesity part, as someone whose pretty big herself it’s not about telling me to be healthy. It’s how you say it and what you decide to do afterwards. I’ve seen people who exercised and ate healthy food, and dieting, they was still big. For many plus size people it’s not about people telling us something we already know. It’s about the fact that many tells us to be healthy like we aren’t trying to or we just gave up on our bodies. You can be skinny and unhealthy. We just get tired that we get shamed for being big, you can tell us to get healthy all you want but that doesn’t guarantee that slim, skinny, or w.e body type you all deem as “healthy” that’s not how bodies work. Size doesn’t equate to health,

For me it’s this thing where every time someone starts spouting it’s about health and don’t promote obesity I just just know they don’t give a fuck about my health they don’t know anything about my health they are almost never doctors and they aren’t having these conversations with or about models who are out here with “tricks” like eating tissue paper to fill you up without gaining weight they are people who I’ll see smoking drinking doing drugs then telling me I don’t care about my body and I should think of my health like they have any idea about how much I exercise or what I eat it’s just all so hypocritical especially because the studies show fat shaming doesn’t work and people who lose weight because of shame and being taught to hate their bodies are more likely to gain it back again sorry I’m on a tangent now it’s just so upsetting to me

I have a few degrees and a nurse so here’s the thing. When we have the obesity talk we need to look at the big picture. It’s expensive to be healthy. Allow me to explain, “healthier” food even with coupons are expensive. The cost of living is EXPENSIVE. So we work multiple jobs to stay afloat and often times don’t have time to make a sound meal so something quick is up for grabs. I’m a single mom, I work ALOT and I try to cook on my days off or when I get home after I put my little one to bed. But sometimes this isn’t an option. On average, I get 4 to 5 hours of sleep a day. So a balance diet, rest goes lacking. Squeezing in a good working happens about 2 times a week at best. When we have these conversations, we need a full picture conversation and not just telling overweight people to get healthy or stop being lazy. There’s so many external factor that get lost in the sauce of people trying to be a-holes

Because he doesn't actually care about health, he just hates the idea that people can update their idea of "normal" or "beautiful". He got extremely ill after eating an all-meant diet (which any sane person knows isn't healthy) and he also used to have an addition to benzos (I'm not hating on him for that I just think he's a hypocrite pseudointellectual). He never criticizes the ultra skinny or the perpetuation of eating disorders and drug usage in modeling or especially sports but ask him about Lia Thomas and he'll fly off the handle and start crying about how nobody cares about young boys.
