BET did, but WE did NOT support it. BET honors GONE, Black Girls Rock GONE, Sundays Best GONE, News GONE, 106 GONE, Teen summit GONE, Bobby Jones gospel GONE !!!! these programs are all gone because WE did not support them. Believe me, I've worked on many of these shows. Social media awards doubled the ratings over all of the mentioned programs... bottom line is, the ratchet viewers support their programs with views. BET is just like any other money making Network, the Quality programs need your support to keep them on the air. I'm so sick of us crying and complaining instead of doing something. There should have been gatherings, support and watch parties to support black girls rock... that chit was official, owned by a black couple and only acknowledged the best of us (non ratchet). But we did not watch. Well, black girls rock is returning but on the lifetime network, hopefully it's gets support instead of a bunch of us crying next year about the absence of quality black programs.

Man, those of us who were fortunate to have xperienced BET when it was quality are saddened by what has taken place over the years. When Viacom took over it tumbled downhill fast! Bet News, Teen Summit, Video Soul, Carribean Rhythms, political discussions, Viacom knew what they were doing...I wonder what the OG owners think of their legacy?
