Use the C-Suite C-Vox after the recording chain as that will clean up any hiss.

Once again, another ‘knock it out of the park’ video. Question 🙋‍♂️, you seem to like the LA2A Grey version compressor, how do you find it when compared to the Silver version? Once again thank you for all your hard work, and all the best for 2022

it's been a while for me on any other LA-2a type... however when i was experimenting the grey seemed to be the least noisy.

Thanks for the great Video. I am new to Adobe Audition, and I have a Rodecaster Pro 2, which I think was a mistake. I have an Apollo Twin, and a bunch of UA Plugins. I have tried just bumping up the Twin on the Pre Amp but need to go almost to the max, before it hits Adobe Audition. I have a lot of experience with Music Production, but nothing on Podcasts until now and it's harder than I thought to be honest!! So to my question; if all I want to do is boost the gain, would I be right that you should do it using a small part of your suggestion here, so that when it hits Adobe Audition the recording will perhaps be slightly improved? I keep reading multiple people saying you don't need a Cloudlifter etc, and the Apollo just needs to be maxed out on the pre amp, but I am starting to wonder .. anyway .. sorry for long message, just trying to get a good sound for my Podcast .. and losing my patience lol :) have a great day ..

Has anyone ever had an issue using the ssl e 4000 as a preamp in the unison slot? Having a problem where the plug-in will turn the fader and the output knob all the way down if I’m using the plug-in as a preamp in the unison slot :/

I used the same exact vocal signal chain as yours on my uad apollo twin x with shure sm7b using fethead but the sound doesn't come as loud and clear on my pc as it is for you any idea what the problem could be ?

I use the SM7B with Apollo Twin X and cloud lifter. I find I have more white noise/line noise than there should be and it catches background noises a lot. Any idea why that might be and any fixes to it? Thanks for the video!

Should be plenty of clean gain with what you have, so something is either broken, or else you're trying to record very soft sources while being too far from the SM7. It's not a sensitive mic; gotta be right on top of it and singing or talking loud. Background noises in your room can only be solved by not having background noise in your room, or using an expander to turn them down.

Would the RE20 be a better choice for KZbin, sounding more like a condenser?
@ags911
@ags911 2 жыл бұрын
@Nouvraught I had a U87Ai DIY mic and it sounded amazing but my room isn’t treated. Too bad I lost it, I was considering getting another one or shooting for a dynamic mic this time but it sounds like I’ll be downgrading.
@FreakinOutOnAudio

The RE20 is a good mic, but in my experience it matches less peoples voices well than the SM7. Best to try it before buying... some people sound really good on the RE20, some less good. Doesn't sound like a condensor.
@ags911
@ags911 3 ай бұрын
@@FreakinOutOnAudio I have quite a deep voice so it might work well. I guess it can always be fixed with post processing. I think the RE20 needs less fixing out of the box just like the U87 though.
@FreakinOutOnAudio

I personally usually prefer a condensor for a brighter tone and cut on a deep voice. Anything can work with some EQing though. Or just back off a couple inches if it's too bassy.@@ags911

Not really, just get a good pre-amp with a decent EIN (Equivalent Input Noise); I've been using an SM7B with the sE Dynamite DM1 connected directly into the Go XLR Mini, and I don't hear any difference with the noise floor.
@FreakinOutOnAudio
@FreakinOutOnAudio 3 ай бұрын
No. It's just a cheap way to try and compensate for a wimpy preamp. It's not a miracle... the SM7 is not a sensitive mic and not the best for quiet sources.

Hmmm you said the mics only good for spoken vocals and podcasting but a lot of singers loke rock n roll singers and famously michael jackson used this mic for their loud dynamic vocals
