Thanks for all you do, your lessons are some of the most accurate on youtube. I've learned a ton from your Gary Moore series and the Reelin' in the Years tutorial (the best version I've seen) thanks a bunch!

Greetings to you from Ireland. You're correct in saying that Gary wouldn't have used his little finger - he rarely did apart from chords. He also played quite linearly at times, choosing to go up and down on the fretboard when it would seem more logical to play across the fretboard, but I guess that became a part of his style. I always enjoy your lessons and informative knowledge - kudos to you.

+Piotr Sz I concur. You are providing a lot of help to us, the guys that hear licks like this, and instantly know there is some stuff going on there but have no idea of how to extract it so we can use it. Thank You.

Love it man. I never noticed that high D sharp or E flat or whatever it is, but now that you mention it, I can definitely hear it. Hopefully have some time to sit down with this soon. Still intimidating even broken down like this. Thx a lot mate!

You're welcome, I always love working out GM's licks. But to be honest the fast stuff I'm pretty confident I can get although not as fast as him, but what I really struggle with is his vibrato, that's a lot harder to master especially on bent notes. IMHO he had THE best vibrato in the business.

*Along* with your other videos on GM, this is some downright "FAST" old-school playing. Many players nowadays resort to Sweeps and economy/legato picked scalar runs to show off how fast they play, but rarely do I see this old school approach where most of the tone and aggression comes from the left hand. I've also been neglecting the use of basic techniques like Pull offs and hammer ons until recent. I've been watching your videos on Gary Moore, also been checking out Doug Aldrich and some Brian May as well as the odd stuff on KZbin. Would you be able to give me some advice/links where I can learn more of these flashy licks and expand upon my hammer-on/pull off vocabulary? Thanks!!!

I just watched your tutorial on the Gary Moore lick from the song Blues for Narada! My question for you is Gary playing octaves on the main verse of the song?

Yeah, it is a killer lick. It takes a lot of repetition to get it that's for sure.

Excellent playing and amazing tone! Can you fill me in on what pedals and amp you're using? And even what pickups are in your Les Paul? And what mic you're using to capture that tone? Sounds incredible! Thanks in advance for any info and keep the great video's coming! : )

Thanks for the nice comment bro. Pickups are Suhr Aldrich, amp is an Egnater Renegade head through a Marshall 1960b cab. I had a BB Preamp pedal to give it just a bit more bite, and some delay is from a TC Electronics Nova System through the loop. Thanks for watching! .

Thank you so much. I was waiting for this lick. Great work. Could you do the lick from Parisienne Walkways - 1993 live at 1:39 seconds? I tried to slow down it and play, but the sound gets very distorted, so i can't hear what he is playing...Thank you!!!
