I can so relate to the sibling rivalry thing, growing with my big brother [I am the third born]. It wasn't nice and I actually thought he hated me then. Now we are so much better and we talk on the phone a couple of times especially since I am living far away from home. He supports me financially sometimes. We can state that sibling rivalry is a passing childhood phase but I feel/think when a new child comes into the picture, the older sibling[s] may naturally feel bad/jealous or envious because of all the attention the young child gets. This can influence sibling rivalry at an early age. Parents, therefore, really need to check out these behaviours in their children because it can cause so much harm both physically and emotionally, not only at a young age but also when they are adults. They also need to find out how their [parents] behaviour is influencing the children to act out. I am so happy to see that you guys are getting along fine now and that he has even come to support your move. This is a beautiful thing and I thank God for that! Today is his birthday, he has grown into such a handsome and caring young man.
