I am usually the happy holiday person, but I lost my fiancé in April and his birthday is the Monday after Thanksgiving. In talking with my doctor, where I’ve been my dosage of Cymbalta for that and other reasons. So refreshing when ppl can talk openly about their mental health. From my xp; to anyone who's ever been a victim of hate / violence because of their appearance, gender, orientation, race : DO NOT ever let a hateful notion 'maybe there's something wrong with me' sink in. Trust me, it's a recipe for self hatred and compulsive anxieties later on. When we suffer and we need a break, it's only natural to think: maybe if I was like everyone else I would be accepted. No, haters will always find something else to prey upon. I've always had kinda androgynous look, which was a fuel for bullies when I was growing up. I embraced it, used it to my advantage in my acting / modeling career, I was almost the face of Leon in these new Resident Evil games :)

I have been sick too. First I had sinus drainage for weeks. Then it turned into some sort of throat thing plus more drainage and then coughing started. Then weeks later I got sick again with “another cough” and got a 100- 102 fever for like over 12 hours. I didn’t treat the fever and just laid on the couch. This fall season has been a mess of sickness! Finally getting better after that. Hope yours clears up !!!

Ive had guinea pigs most of my life and what i found that worked was i used a food dish meant for birds that clipped on to cage so they cant dump it over or anything

I feel your "sick" pain ... Got a cold that lasted for a week, slept the better part of THAT week away, and then a cough that went on for another week-ish. I've taken every cold medication known to the OTC industry, got some pharmaceuticals, got a nebulizer, did breathing treatments for at least four days, an inhaler, and a magical metric F-ton of Mucinex. Hope you get to feeling better SOON!!! :)

I just love your videos! I raised guinea pigs for years! I always was making things work like you did also! lol I loved watching you come up with that solution and seeing you actually put it together and seeing the end result. Some guinea pigs LOVE to play with the water bottle all day. It can be very frustrating because of the bedding. I sure hope you feel better! I wish I lived near you. I need a friend like you. It sounds nice but it's not practical. We have a small yard and filled up a compost bin surprisingly quickly. Then you have to leave it there for quite a while before it's usable.

Are you not allowed to build composters in the garden in the US? You don’t need a tumbler. The garden is huge so there is plenty of space for a series of compost containers, you start filling one, then move to the next, they rot in stages, so you eventually end up always having quite rotted stuff to use, some in process and somewhere to put fresh stuff.

In the past when I had piggies, I put a small brick under the water bottle spout. It caught and absorbed the water and the piggies also put their front paws on it helping with those nails too.

I am so sorry you are sick! I have the same thing and it is exhausting. I had the added bonus of a double ear infection on top of the horrible virus and cough. I am amazed you got some to-do list things done. My laundry pile is currently out of control and the fridge is almost empty. But thank you so much for posting as we were missing our sweet Bea! You get a bazillion comments, but just thought I'd say, if you don't have an oscillating tool yet, it's a super handy thing. The blade is small so it gets into small areas/doesn't feel massive, it cuts wood,drywall, plastic, etc can be used for sanding too. Just saying that's what I'd have reached for for your guinea pig project!

It sounds like you have what I had last year in November. I caught it while on vacation. It started with a really nasty cough and feeling really tired. After a week, I thought I was getting better but then I suddenly got worse. I went to urgent care as soon as I got home. They tested me for a bunch of things (COVID, flu, RSV) and all of the tests came back negative. The cute guy doctor listened to my lungs and said they didn't sound too bad (not sure how since the cough was awful). He prescribed me those pearls (don't remember the exact name). I was still coughing for 3 weeks after that. It was horrible and I didn't think the cough would ever go away. I'm going on my yearly vacation in two weeks and I'm hoping and praying I don't get sick this time. I'm up-to-date on all my shots so hopefully that'll help prevent me from catching anything.

Aw, Sweetie! Feel better! So heartwarming to see your PJ pics and Stevie making sure you didn't hurt yourself. So sweet. Here's what I do when I'm feeling sick: a clove or two of crushed garlic, about an inch of peeled and minced ginger root, one lemon cut up (skins on), honey, a little bit of cayenne--put it all in a big mug and pour boiling water (or you can use tea) over and let it steep about 15 mins. Drink up and feel better.

Sorry if lots of people said this already, but does your guinea pig need enrichment/stimulation in the form of a chew toy or something similar? Maybe they're bored and the water bottle is something to do that gives a satisfying sound or feeling. Good luck! Great job on the funnel/bucket set up!

I hope you feel better soon. Bea, if the coughing continues, please get tested for asthma. Coughing is a symptom of asthma. Tiredness another symptom of not being able to breathe easy. I didn't get diagnosed with asthma until I was an adult. My triggers are smoke, diesel exhaust, cigarettes/cigars, cold/damp weather, pet dander, feathers, dust, mould, floral scents, and life. The last one is to be funny. 😂

My daughter had the cough fever thing for 2 weeks. I had her take 500 mg vitamin C every 3 hours, D3, 35 mg zinc, and tea with honey til cold was gone. I also had her do nasal salt water rinses twice a day. She coughed so much. I hope you get all better soon. 😊

Just FYI, salt water dries out the nasal passages and throat. If you use it, best to rinse with plain water after it. (Info from an MD on CBC)
