I'm glad you liked the video, thank you for your kind words. I hope you love the heck out of your 365 when you get it!

Absolutely love my p365xl, not one issue out the box and 1700+ rounds so far!! The Magguts mag extensions I’ve ran in it have been 100% also… the XL is by far my favorite carry pistol! I’ve never held/shot the og p365, but my XL is perfect in every way so I couldn’t imagine even liking a smaller version any better, xl is PLENTY tiny/concealable/thin for me and love the full grip

Glad to see Sig fixed it up right (finally). I've got 250 through my 365XL with no issues and more than acceptable accuracy. I'm curious on that slide lockup that you showed, haven't seen that before.

Me too. I really wanted this thing to be g2g from the get go. I have no idea what's up with the 2 weird slide issues, but they both happened multiple times so I can't say it's a fluke. Let us know how your XL does going forward, especially if you see any of those issues.

Good video. We have 650 rounds with my wife’s p365 with zero malfunctions so far. For as small as it is we can shoot it accurate as heck.

Thank you! I'm really glad you both like your 365. I can honestly say I don't dislike it now, which I couldn't say before this video. Still some kinks to work out, but that's still an improvement. Thank you for the comment and for sharing your experience!

nah this is a classic case of a poorly manufactured recoil spring assembly. the machine stamping the springs was not sharpened/tool changed often enough. it happens a lot more commonly on cheaply produced smaller guns with dual recoil springs. its a very difficult problem to diagnoses since the spring basically jumps its track inside and then resets itself when you put the slide back into battery. its pretty common on guns towards the end of their mfg runs. few gun smiths know about this since its such an obscure issue. his isnt that bad but its a lot more common in taurus'. only happens during recoil from firing.

@@Whiskey.Tango.Actual ya take things appart and u might see gauling on the inside of the slide and on the recoil spring. there is a reason hk had patented the double recoil spring. its not easy to get right, and the smaller the gun the easier it is for things to go wrong

Watch your thumb. It might be pressing on the slide release.

how often did you lube it during the 800 rd test?

I didn't. That was part of the test

i like to buy cheap funs coz i get to learn and experience all the weird failure modes people think are "impossible" with something they spent more than 400$ on. I have had the random slide locking up issue before, except it was extremely difficult and took about ~100+ pounds of pressure on the slide against a table ledge to open. it was on my taurus pt111, that was the early generation of the g2 / g3c millennium evidence locker special guns. super confusing since I think im pretty mechanically inclined. one time at the range one of the workers saw me messing with it and just took it away without asking and lubed it up lol. ran for another ~15 rounds and then bound up again half way thru a mag with empty in chamber. finally found an obscure forum board talking about the issue and they identified it as a poorly/underspec'd recoil spring mfg defect. inside of the 2 part recoil spring, i think the outer/larger of the 2 springs had a bur on the end of it which was supposed to be angled the otherway. guessing in brazil they just turn the machines up to 11 and pump out these dollar tree specials and towards the end of the week the machines cutting/stamping the spring assembly out get dull and start bending over the recoil spring weird and if its severe enough then it will randomly cause that ghost lock up. when i took the slide off sure enough there was some deepish scrapes inside where the compressed recoil spring was likely jumping over the endpost and digging into the slide causing it to bind up. I called up taurus and even though my piece was out of warranty they sent me a new spring for free coz it took me so long to diagnose. I think it was a common enough of a problem they were fine senidng me what prolly cost them 10$ in parts and post. I would check that out. lubing my gun up didnt help, i even tried copper based automotive anti seize thinking maybe it was the magic pixie dust in factory glocks. ran perfect after the spring install. I have also had that issue where the slide on some of my glocks will randomly go forward during mag change. this only happened after ~5-10,000 rounds. 5k rnds for my 40cal g22, ~10k for my g19 9mm. I think it is because of using the slide lock/release lever with my thumb during mag changes. I am not sure if the parts are made poorly, maybe has to do with metal temper and the tradeoff between a malleable/soft locking surface and a hard/brittle surface. on my g19 it was the actual slide lock lever and imo u should train however feels the most intuitive so I refuse to start using the "sling shot" pull back and release with the opposite hand method. i just now consider the slide lock lever a consumable part like the extractor. on my g22 however, it has had so many rounds and is basically clapped out and loose now (people who say .40 doesnt cap ur gun out early havent shot 10k+ rounds thru a single gun), the actual frame portion of the slide that mates with the slide lock is chipped/trimmed off. idk... .40 guns just have a way shorter shelf life than most hand guns. youll get 30-50k rounds out of the OG polygonal (velocity boosting) glock barrel but only ~10k out of the same .40cal before the barrels shot. in the future i am only going to buy those throw away pt111 .40cal guns or actual guns that went though military/police trials in .40 cal like the HK USP or P2000k(s). try cleaning ur recoil spring and lubing it with a heavier weight lube including the inside slide surfaces where the compressed recoil springs would be housed... if that doesnt fix it i would ask sig for a new spring or just buy one. maybe go after market? have a great day, thanks for uploading

Thanks for posting this Country Boy. Seeing as those 115gr ball rounds were lower power and the Speer Gold Dot had more pop and locked the slide back in that last test you showed, have you tested the gun further with that type of ammo to see if it was locking the slide back every time? Thanks

Sad part about this is that the money people could spend on sig you could just bought something else. FYI, I use to have a SIG not anymore. I’m not a 100 to 300 round shooter. I vet my gun 1000 rounds no cleaning and no after market parts. If any gun I pick can’t last through that it’s not good enough for me. I have over 12k rounds through my HK and no issues at all. Not a fan on sig using us as test dummies and please don’t tell me about the you fired 500 rounds in a year and give you no issues. Good video I’m glad SIG fixed your gun’s problems.👍👍
