You (and probably mr. Fink himself) are doing this job so good, that if i miss just half an hour i don't see the bot-attack in action anymore. It's a stark and welcome contrast to bigger official chanells with any content related to Ukraine, Russia, Georgia or similar. Very friendly and therefore nearly boring comment section, but beats the garbage dump that kremlinbots make of other comment sections (like under every news outlet and daily Ukraine updates chanell). Reportimg is my passtime since the start of invasion too, when i have time, but it's become very inefficient because YT doesn't take notice and rather delete my detailed, unoffensive coments and rebuttals of autocrat disinformation comments while leaving up just the disinformation. I think YT is seriously compromised (i even think infiltrated) without chanells doing moderation themselves.

For those who care: Konstantin uses the term "gos" this-or-that - Gosplan, Goszakaz. "Gos" is simply shortspeak for "government". It's the same as English speakers saying "Gov" instead of the whole word. The full Russian adjective is Gosudarstvennyj. (Pronouced: guh-soo-DAHR-stvyen-nee)

Thank you for a great video. I grew up in Denmark during the Cold War. We got a lot of East Germans who flew from east Germany. They came over the Baltic in many imaginary boats. Denmark placed a weather ship in the Baltic just close to the East German broader, so they could assist people and pull them out of the water. At that time it was all very skilled and educated people who came. They didn’t have a chance to change anything at home, but they wouldn’t live under these conditions either. I think we will se exactly that with Russia today they will loose good and very skilled people to Europe and the US. We in Europe should take these people in and protect them.
@dannydetonator
@dannydetonator 4 ай бұрын
It has been happening since the start of full-scale war, in a few waves and a constant trickle of brain-drain. The second wave upon first mobilization brought some less educated people, some of them supporting their regime, just afraid of being drafted. Some Kremlin agents infiltrated among them as shown by many arrests of saboteurs all across "the west". I agree we should take them in, but some precautions and regulations should be put in place, some little control and education is necessary, from administrations to secret services. I suggest to look for examples in contries with most experience with Russian immigration and refugees for a long time. Like Baltic states, which while being increasingly strict with entrance criteria, from the very start of the war implemented requirement for a statement from everyone coming from Russia to declare that they don't support Kremlin's regime and condone the war. It might seem trivial and superficial, but gives some leverage legally and politically if any group decides to organise pro-Putin demonstrations and other disturbances as has happened for decades here. Just a little control and vigilance is necessary, despite many Russians (especially opposition journalists and online activists like Konstantin) doing a great job and are probably Russia's best hope for future, with or without their very country.
@carolwilliams8511

Yes. And benefit from their skills. Although I do understand the suspicion and reluctance, given how the kremlin 'protects' it's ex pats, using their presence to justify an incursion into the host country.

That is already happening. 97% of Russians who live in Serbia and Montenegro are against Putin according to the official Russian election results. Most of them are young and educated. The percentage is some other countries is a bit smaller but anyway vast majority of emigrants are against Putin and war in Ukraine.
@noname-ll2vk
@noname-ll2vk 4 ай бұрын
This has already happened. Most people smart and with enough resources have left. Putin said good riddance. That's typical for authoritarians who don't understand true wealth comes from your people. But Muscovy empire is the same raw materials export based economy it's always been, suffering same dilemma as all petro states run by a dictatorship. And creating conditions for the same collapse that for some reason Russians don't seems to notice as a repeating pattern. Though the USSR chapter was less so because they didn't allow emigration and so retained more smart skilled people. Dictators don't like strong military leaders or smart people because they pose a risk to their personal corruption and power. As Konstantin explains well.

Often many books behind them - though Jonathan did blur the background with some half baked AI. Like you said, their knowledge and analysis matters! ;)

Despite the efforts of international law, the world is still falling short of its ideals. Putin's actions, in particular, are a notable example of this failure. In the early stages of the war he started, Putin publicly declared on television that he would no longer recognize or honour any international agreements made by past Russian governments. This statement has significant implications, as it essentially nullifies Russia's legal right to participate in international organizations such as the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and many others. In light of this, it is time for the international community to take a firm stance and impose consequences on Putin and Russia. Issue the eviction notices to leave all these offices, embassies, The UN and other facilities located in other countries, as well as reclaiming the land they occupy. In the end, Russia legally has no more Veto power in the UN as they are there illegally as per Putin's denouncing all former agreements made by others. Time to show Putin & Russia the door.

agree that it should work that way, and yet it doesn't actually at the U.N. for various stuctural reasons. But yes, leaders need to put pressure as much as possible within the org's that matter, which are the financial ones.

@@18_rabbit I understand that the concept of an open communication channel doesn't quite work that way. The reason behind this is the mindset of the USA and other key players, who believe that there should always be a means for open communication, even if others like Russia etc don't share the same sentiment. This mindset allows them to exploit this open communication channel, which they Russia etc. would likely refuse to others if the situation were reversed.

Its funny how British propaganda has an absolute tool on its program. This guy is nothing but a traitor who for 2 years predicted Russian economic collapse and Russian military defeat. But here you are the British stooges believing this guy is smart and he knows everything..he knows absolutely nothing

God is all powerful and has a plan for everything and everyone. But achieving His goals requires massive infusions of cash, gets lots of people hurt, and consistently frustrates believers' missions and prayers. I don't credit Belausov and fellow zealots with enough introspection to appreciate the irony.

As for the selection of Belousov, might he have been gauged as the most loyal and likely to hand Putin the red button when he wants it?

A wonderful discussion. Konstantin, who obviously has first hand knowledge of Russian culture, looking at and analysing the inner machinations of Putin behind the scenes is fascinating and revealing. 🇬🇧

Regarding the '90's in Russia, Yeltsin asked for help from the West to deal with the shift from the soviet planned economy to a market economy and with it, hyperinflation. Jeffrey Sachs and his team of😮 modern economists tried shock therapy to get inflation under control. The team tried but failed. In on open letter years later, Sachs explained that corruption was rampant, and would have to be elimiated before
