I have the evolution and that thing cured my target panic, improved my form, my scores and made me win tournaments. It is amazing how this thing changed my game. Its the only way to go for me now.

Just got one today, I shoot a 72lbs Mathews tx5 @85% letoff. Even at the lowest resistance I literally have to pull to the point of my bow holding hand shaking to release it... am I doing something wrong?

You're probably collapsing at the bow shoulder and not realizing it. I would video yourself facing your back and you can see this better. Watch my video on Back Tension 101 and it'll help illustrate some of this too.

Cool shooter's jersey, I really like the look. I don't think you mentioned it, but it's worth pointing out that mastering a tension release will also make better with the hinge (or any release, for that matter), because it forces you to perfect your form.

I've never tried a 2 finger release before,I thought I would give it a go because my form it's in and out and do suffer from target panic from time to time. I thought it would make me more consistent in the long run.

I like them better. I go back and forth between a 2 and 3 finger HT from time to time but I always settle with the 2 finger hinge. It sets up my release side better and I get a steadier hold on target because I can build tension better seems like.

In shooting a pistol, there are several theories on how to pull the trigger. Rob Latham has the best advice I go by and have gone by for over 50 years. Pull the trigger any way you want, when you pull the trigger, don't move the gun. You do not have the luxury of slowly pulling the trigger and having it surprise you when a bad guy runs past an open doorway. Same goes for shooting a bow. Use any release you want, shoot it with your feet, your mouth, any way you like; just don't move the alignment when you do and do it the same as you possibly can each time. Most people that have success in shooting anything tend to overcomplicate things. There are a few that manage to keep things simple. The fact that there are over 300 releases tells me people are looking for an equipment fix to a people problem. "It's not the arrow, It's the Indian. Your milage may vary. Stay safe.

Do you think a Silverback is good release for a "beginner". I'm getting back into archery after having been away from it for a long while. Your videos have been really helpful, along with Mr. Dudley's of course, in relearning the fundamentals. I currently have a Trueball wrist strap trigger release. I never liked the way the anchor point felt with it. The anchor point looks more solid and repeatable with this type of rest.

The Silverback would be a good release, or even a Carter Evolution which is the same thing just a three finger. They'll help you find form flaws and focus on the correct style of shot execution.

Dudley is rich enough and releass are over priced y is a Carter knock too is selling for $295 on e bay but u can get 3 or 4 finger carter release for 200 and there's more material obviously

Have had some really bad TP in the past , and shooting the Carter was like a salvation. since I'm feeling to get it again, or less confident in my technique with much more hesitation, I go straight back to the fundamental and shoot a true BT as a cure. good job again rob 😉

You'll need to have a really good foundation for form and bone on bone alignment to use this release. It requires building a lot of consistency and will point out every flaw pretty easily. It's a great training release and can be used to hunt with for sure but you'll need to be someone who practices consistently throughout the year.

$16 release has done the same thing as a $200+ release I bought. I’m using the pincer toe for hunting believe it or not. I love the hook release though.

I was pretty good with it when i first got it but started really struggling with it after a few weeks. Lately I think ive been collapsing or otherwise moving my bow arm. The shot wont go off and my forearm creeps towards and eventually touches the string stop. The struggle is all too real.

That sounds like you're raising up the shoulders when you're saying your forearm is turning. The bone structure in our arms work that way. When you lift up the shoulder the arm rotates counter clockwise. You could be having a draw length/loop length issue to fit you correctly. It could be a lot, but that's where I would start. dudewithnofood if you don't mind I can tell what you can do at first and see if it help you out before you start messing with your bow. You said you was doing good but then started to have problems. Try changing your stance to a open stance cause then your front shoulder and hip will rotate to put you inline. Remember you can all ways practice with a string with a loop the same length as your DL and your release.

Got it Saturday, nice piece of equipment as it should be for the cost. Initially it was a little rough to get used to, but its coming around slowly. I suffered from TP and am using it as a training aid.

That's a good way to get started, using the training aid. If you have a scale to use it on and set it up, it makes things a lot easier to get accustomed to and transfer it over to the bow. Start about 5 pounds over holding weight and then you can fine tune the adjustments from there if you need it heavier or lighter. If you have any questions along the way just let me know!

One application I mentioned in the video is if you're struggling with target panic. This makes a great time to use the Silverback, or a tension release, over the Nock 2 It. The other scenario would be when you're struggling with your shot and need to get back to the basics.

Because a Nock 2 it is a thumb trigger & does not teach you how to use your back muscles to pull through the shot correctly. Most people will end up punching the trigger eventually unless they have used some form of pull through release. ;)
