Have just on 60k shots on my Mantis and it is a critical part of my training. For the first segment we get into trouble drawing our bows above shoulder and target. They are particularly strict on this in Europe so we have to draw level to the target. Thanks for the great info

Some very good tips. I recently removed some of my front weight, which feels good, but I am having more problems holding target. When I pull thru the shot it gets even worse so I can tend to let off a little which will steady the sight picture, but my bow has a small valley so it ends up pulling me out of the shot and causing misfires. Going to experiment with adding weight back a little at a time and see how it goes. What you say about bow balance makes sense. I took weight off to create a more balanced bow, which it is when static, but once you pull back, it's no longer balanced. Going to verify my peep height tonight too. Good stuff !!

You’re definitely experiencing the front weight needing more. If the overall front weight gets too heavy for you to hold up comfortable you can take off back Weight and lighten the whole rig up.

@@rcrchery I ended up spending a fair amount of time trying different weight amounts on the front and it definitely steadied the sight picture...and helped offset the pull needed to stay firmly on the back wall. But yeah the whole bow felt too heavy. Not bad for a few ends but after 8 or 9 the benefits of a steady sight picture started to diminish. So I did as you suggested and dropped a lot of weight off the backend but left enough up front to get the better sight picture. Now the overall weight is comfortable to hold for a longer period. I think the key is taking the time to shoot for a bit after you make changes. It takes a while to let your body and mind adjust to really tell if there has been any significant impact. In the end it worked out very well and I learned a few things along the way. Even though I am giving recurve a go I still plan to shoot both so I'll subscribe and keep up on any future videos. Thanks again brother.

Last tip is really good info. and I find myself struggling with this as a result of over aiming. Caused me 3 misfires at my last national event. Didn’t realize I had crept out of the valley and when I finally decided to let down the cams started to take off causing the “double clutch”. That doesn’t work out well with a hinge.

Been there myself. It’s definitely a hard moment with a hinge!

Great video again!!!! I wish i had that video when i started archery (info). Everything is so important. Everything start from there. As a para archer in a wheelchair, the angle i put my chair is super important because i want to be in a natural opening toward the target. TIP: I put a color tape on my foot plate to be at the same angle evertime i put myself over the shooting line.

When im in place before shooting, i simulat that i aim, i close my eyes for fiew sec. If im still aiming at the same place. Im in my natural position for shooting

This is a really good idea with the tape! That makes a lot of sense.

Years of personal failure and figuring out what needed to be done on my end and then years of coaching archers all over the globe. I've worked with local hunters, state champions, national champs and a paralympic archer as well.
