Unfortunately I don't know if you will ever see them together again. Ai looks at shabani as more of a father than a mate. Combined with the birth control over the years, I don't think she goes into estrus anymore.

Kiyo is getting the large neck muscles of a silverback now. His head stands almost as high as Shabani's, when showing his fighting stance. It's interesting to watch him grow into a silverback.

I love grandma Biddy! She's amazing. You are the only person I've seen mention her. I remember when Lope would run up and slap her face and run off. He so needed a butt whooping. 😆 As far as Shabani, I can't stand some of these titles. They breed so much ignorance and hatred. Silverbacks - and any male animal for that matter - cannot go “into heat.” That terminology refers to the time during a female animal’s reproductive cycle when SHE is fertile. Males that haven’t been neutered, on the other hand, are ALWAYS fertile. The term you are looking for is AROUSED.

@@bigboytoyz541 Really? Because based on the frequent pronoun errors, I thought the channel was doing their own English subtitles. Shabani and Kiyomasa were mistakenly “her” - and Annie, Ai & Nene “him” - and I don’t see how translation software could confuse the sex of the gorillas. Another reason I thought the subtitles were added by a human was because Ai is often called “The Ai” - which is a very clever and witty reference to her name being a homophone for “eye” in English.

They often say shabani , she loves her children. Its not pronouncing errors, that's how it translates. It's the same on every channel.

Agree. I get frustrated sometimes watching Kiyo. He’s young, and he’s becoming competition and approaching adulthood, he’s eyeing Ai, even tho she’s his half sister, I don’t think that means anything, Shabani is threatened by it. I see more n more tensions between the two. The zoo may have to take precautions to keep all safe.

Gentaro is 10 times worse than kyomasa. All day long he is throwing stuff and running around full speed hitting him. I hate watching them go through this black back phase. That's why it's important to separate them from the group, because they will mature and calm down when they are separated and by themselves for a while.
