The Kohlrabi leaves are actually edible and delicious as well! I treat them like any leafy green. 😉 Where I live, Kohlrabi is a very common veg. Goes great cooked, spiced with some nutmeg in vegan white sauce, the leaves thrown in as well. But snacking on it is very good too.

Great hack searing the ends. I’ve only seared the long sides. Adding medjool dates to spicy or bitter salad is genius. I’ve never done that. Fabulous food once again. Your mom is lovely and looks like she enjoyed everything!

Okay, first I have to preface this by saying I love your videos. But they also depress me because you make it look SO easy! I have tried a few times in the past year to go fully vegan and I am always so concerned with food and meal prep that life becomes not enjoyable. I enjoy eating healthy and love vegan food, but I find it just so hard to meal plan. Your meals are inspiring because of how simple they are. I’ve followed other vegan meal plans and stuff before but they always have such exotic ingredients and time-consuming recipes. I need to learn how to relax and just eat the basics like you do every day. Thank you for making these videos. Sooner or later things will click with me and I’ll look back and laugh at how complicated I made things.

Your full day of eating videos are fantastic: inspirational, entertaining and relaxing! Off topic question: have you ever made your own hot sauce? I love Valentina hot sauce, but there is way too much sodium if you use a lot of sauce at one time, as I do 🙂
@Simnettnutrition2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I have never made my own hot sauce. I now it is so salty but I'm not too worried since I make all my own food at home so the sodium is usually quite low already. I would imagine the salt is what provides much of the flavour, but it would be cool to try without.

Great looking food and adorable Mom! My favorite way to eat apples is to take peanuts or peanut butter and blend in a high speed blender with medjool dates to make a peanut butter caramel...so good. If sauces or dressing come out to thin throw in some chia seeds and blend. Let sit for a few minutes and it will thicken right up.

You are looking less inflamed and more relaxed. It would be interesting to see how you feel if you continued with the lemon water and fruit in the morning. As well as lowering the protein powder consumption. Keeping with the awesome Whole foods like this day. I love kohlrabi… it would be great to see it regularly in more stores. I used some aging cashew butter to make nearly the same dressing today before I watched this. I haven’t had fats for over 6 months. I even had to add a bit of avo like you for the same reason. Thank you. Great beach time! What a happy kitty in the tree!

My husband and I love watching your videos! Y’all are such a cute couple and so inspiring! My son is thinking about going whole food plant based and I told him to check out some of your videos because he thought eating this way made you look like a skeleton 😂😂 Anyhow, Hubby and I are whole food plant based since December of 2021. I’m 59 and he is 62. I’ve lost almost 60 pounds and he has lost 35 pounds. We don’t do any oils at all, how do you feel about including a small amount of oil such as olive oil or canola oil only once in a while? Is there an oil of preference that you would pick over another?
@Simnettnutrition2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Susie! I appreciate it. Having oil on occasion is totally fine. It can be nice to add to certain dishes for sure. I would suggest olive oil (on medium heat) personally or avocado oil (if you are cooking on high heat).
