Teenager series? For a teenager who can master a waffle iron but has a very limited attentionspan and an aversion to doing dishes. We already do waffles with quick oats, water and salt (with optional grated carrots, chopped walnuts and more spices, depending on lazyness level). 1 portion porridge is 50g, but as waffles 1 portion is easily 100g oats - the dough is made practically thick enough to knead) We use Knorr Potato Flakes (simply dehydrated potatoes, nothing else) to make 'croquettes' in the oven and are working towards making a simpler version of that for the waffle iron. It would - just like the croquettes - contain soft tofu (300g package) mashed with a fork; turmeric, black pepper, salt and rosemary, nooch and of course the potato flakes and maybe tapioca starch and a little water (that is basically the croquettes as of now😂) But it's not ready in a simpler version yet. I WOULD love to have something that includes something, ANYTHING, that is a dark leafy green. DLGs need some serious good PR promo in my house (they are innocent😂 and have been discriminated against simply based on color). Can you help?

That's amazing. Great to hear. I do show some clips in this one where we get some takeaway, but I honestly don't eat out much. I usually eat before I go if I don't know how much vegan stuff will be on the menu so I don't have to worry about getting something too filling.
@adiohead10 ай бұрын
Eating out is pretty easy these days. Either pick somewhere you know or have checked the menu of. But most places offer a vegan option, and if they don't you can always ask them if they can make anything. If worst comes to worst then I just wait until I can eat at home or somewhere else, but to be honest that doesn't happen anymore due to all the options.
@VeganVitalKitchen10 ай бұрын
Eating out is so much easier than it once was. Some places it's just asking the right questions when you get the menu. You do find some places cook alot on their vegan food in the same pans and oils they're cooking meats in so always ask. Then it's just finding a few spots near you that you can try all the delicious food! I'll be doing a night out being a vegan later this month, as I struggled 2 years ago when I first transitioned from pescatarian to Plantbased.
@jennamakesbugs10 ай бұрын
So, I happen to live somewhere there aren't any vegan restaurants, but have found a few ways to get around that. You can go for pizza and choose all the veggies with no cheese. There's a place here that does custom nachos, so we get that with beans and veggies with no cheese (they have tofu, but not vegan cheese). Similarly, there's a burrito or bowl option at another place- also tofu, but no vegan cheese. The closest thing we have to vegan options is a Chinese place that has tofu, eggplant, and cauliflower mains. You have to be very careful about the sauces, but doable. And sometimes I will go for a salad and just order it without meat and dairy but take a little Tupperware of tofu. That's not ideal since you are still paying for the meat whether or not you eat it, but I don't expect to get my restaurant choice every time.
@leapintothewild10 ай бұрын
I carry a cooler of food with me at all times 😞 I can jigger up a vegan meal at sit-down restaurants, but there’s no such thing as vegan fast food anywhere near me - just junk! And being on a food elimination diet also means no gluten or soy, so it’s freaking impossible. Anyway, if it helps anyone… I carry gluten-free wraps full of hummus, avocado and raw vegs, along with oil-free potato chips and air-popped corn sprinkled with nutritional yeast. I’m now an expert at car-picnics! 😂

Thanks for sharing a whole week this time, it definitely gives a fuller view than just one day (although I love those, too, don't get me wrong)! I really like how you make your porridge, being a porridge gal myself! My own go-to recipe is a bit similar. I mix 20 g of protein powder (usually half vanilla, half natural for less sweet taste), 40 g of oatmeal and a bit of cinnamon (sometimes also 5 g of ground flaxseed) with cold water. I add the water bit by bit so that the protein does not get lumpy. I make my porridge in the microwave, but there's no reason why it wouldn't work on the stovetop. When ready, I add frozen berries. They thaw due to the heat and cool down the porridge in just a few minutes. On top, I put some peanut butter made from powder (like PB2). I prefer a runny consistency in this case, so it spreads nicely. I like my porridge sweet, so I also add some chestnut jam, but I think a few dates mixed with water should do the same trick. You should give it a try!
