No, he’s correctly stating that Rodri’s workload is determined by his employer and himself, not the EPL, UEFA, or anyone else. They have the privilege of being able to buy other players and rotate, if they collectively choose not to that’s down to them. Police, fire brigade, military personnel work in shifts and on rotations because it’s not healthy to not have breaks and rotate. City and Rodri DON’T WANT their best player not available all the time, but that’s not fair or feasible. That’s like Arsenal asking for a game to be postponed when they’ve got too many players out injured because they didn’t/wouldn’t rotate earlier in the season which would dilute their team. You can’t have it all your own way.

On Simons arguement that players are geting good pay, but they are not denying to play in champions league, worldcup, Euros, they are against the competition becoming lenthy and lenghty. I wonder how Simon dont have common sense or rather he does not want to use it , otherwise this would not be a news or debate to discuss. Poor journalism...

It's ridiculous... ANY football fan wants to see the best players perform on the highest level, not just their names on the back of the shirts while they are dragging their feet on the field, under performing and getting injured more often or more seriously. They are overpaid, surely, but they are overplayed as well, especially in tournaments that NOBODY CARES FOR, like UEFA Nations League and Club World Cup. Stop poisoning football for profit!

Amazing how we are simping for City injuries. Part of the game. Get on with it. Same message that you deliver to every other team

Well said Simon, if you don’t like the kitchen, get out….are they gonna reduce their wages for less games or would their next contract pay more to cope with reduced wages if there’s a limit to matches played…??

He is far from right, more games affects the quality of any sports. Why u feel basketball players are starting to complain even though they earn way more than footballers, more games means more injuries and nobody watching a match full of 2nd string players. We all want to see players from each team play

Quite simple, reduce the competitions and all the sponsorship, play just 40 games a season and pay them £2,000 per week..........cricket's.
