I added this in my favorites. Simon has a point on the order of things. I work in a huge company that's all about growth and customers, but at the same time their employees are literally running away to work for their competitors. The ones that are left, go on a vacation or sick leave, so the rest of us are burnt out pretty fast. And they are dumping more work on us, saying: 'This will be good for you to learn new skill', but what they are really doing is delegating the work that nobody wants without compensating us adequately. My point is, stay away from companies that force growth and customer orientation. They don't care about their employees.

Love Simon's masterful style and Alex's breakdown's of both positive & negative moments in communication. Have to agree with Brice Hatcher below though, and take major umbrage with SS using Friedman in the negative by pulling his ethics phrase out of context. If you really study MF's life work, he is the EPITOME of morality in business, and how it relates to/can best serve the common man. Not the reverse. It's akin to saying Noah didn't care about animals bc he forgot to bring one species of bird onto the ark. Other than that, huge props to both Simon & Alex. Fantastic work, two thumbs up.

He is an excellent speaker. I've watched many of his speeches. He nails it each and every time. You are absolutely right. He is on the the same level as Jordan Peterson for knowing his material. Everything he does is deliberate which makes it look so natural. He is challenging to watch for learning about delivery because I get pulled into the message. We need more corporate speakers like him.

Thank you for your posts, I love them . Really insightful and nice to watch. 💫👌 Didnt react to previous ones, like to make a remark on this one though. In this segment, you talk about Simon's "inventions" that back up his story.....I think it's been the other way around. This guy is so engaged on many levels and in many issues, that he's done his homework (as you say) , but prior, and now he wants to get that across the public. So the talk is backing up his examples, he did not go out there to find examples to back up his story 😉

Its interesting how good Simon Sinek is at selling his ideas with. He is very well spoken and anyone with that kind of charisma in speaking can sell you water and call it milk. A lot of his ideas are not unique, they are begged borrowed and stolen from others. A lot of these supposed gurus love using scientific words and terms, what actually makes him an expert, he was in advertising which means again he knows how to gesture, act, apear and sound to make everyone rush to buy his books watch and contribute to his KZbin channel and hence make him money and build his empire which what its really all about. His speech is prepared and rehearsed and he actually uses some of the sane examples exactly as they are in the sane wording in other speeches. I myself bought into it initially but as I watched more videos and noticed that this just an act.

I just discovered your channel, a reaction video of Bill Gates popped up on my front page... You mentioned structure ("arrangement") in this video. I'm about to start diving into your channel, but I wasn't sure if you could help point me in the right direction! 😁 I sometimes do public speaking, writing lectures, and have a desire to put together a blog, for some passions of mine... But I really struggle with arranging my ideas. I feel like I get TOO MUCH information, and it's not concise. But then I want to pare it down, and make it concise... And I don't know how to prioritize the information Thanks in advance!! I've watched a few vids already, and am about to start your communication skills playlist 😁😁

This man throwing my boy Milton Friedman under the bus. Maximizing profits in the long run includes ethics. Especially in today's world of instant communication. Businesses trying to maximize short term profits probably are willing to be shady. But that's not a sustainable plan. Maximizing long term profits forces a business to at least act in accordance with acceptable social norms.
@alexanderlyon

Agreed. There were some sketchy old-school business writers that steered people in the wrong direction. Sinek is a vocal advocate of balancing that discussion. I'm encouraged that many corporate leaders are open to his message and the message of many similar writers and speakers today.

Presidential speeches (recently) lack sincerity and truth. Americans realize Presidential speeches are not written by the President, however the President certainly edits, steers, and sets the tone. When I listen to the inaguration speech by JFK - it seems genuine and sincere. When I contrast the inaguration speeches by Trump or Biden; well, sincerity and truth are missing but mostly the passion. Thanks for showing the MLK speech - definitely truth, sincerity, passion, but mostly credibility from MLK. Trump/Biden inagural address? I am very interested in your response.

Just three things on this video: The first one, I loved your reaction; how you unpick Simon S. technique and style and related to the theory in a very digestible way. Second point, although this is the first time that I hear him I can see that he is knowledgeable and very passionate about this subject... He is pragmatic and not a bullshitter so that works very well in my view.. Then of course as you say it is preparation, preparation and preparation...Although it appears to be seamless the work is undoubtedly behind it. Great talk! thanks. I would suggest if I may 'Rethinking infidelity ... a talk for anyone who has ever loved' | by Esther Perel. I'd love to hear your reaction on this one.
