simple apple snail jello (gel food)

how i make simple snail jello, not using any fancy ingredients or any complicated method for anyone out there making snail jello...aka gelatin food for snails...for the first time. i made a big batch because i have tons of snails to feed but if you only have like 1 or 2 and arent even sure they will like it or you just want to experiment, cut the recipe in half! or thirds...or quarters..or eights...or as you desire lol. You can feed this to any aquatic snail...apple snails, nerite, trumpet...etc. ive even seen my fish eat this too.
like i said, there is many different variations to this, and no way to make this is wrong.

you need to let gel cool way down before adding greens so that your NOT flash pasturizing it and taking out the calcium so on.. Next dont add anything to this recipe people with copper in it. The tuna should be in water only NEVER oil and preferbly without soy added like most and no salt added...if ur going to add this to freshwater fish aquariums sub the canned tuna for a raw white fish wild caught and blend it raw into the greens Great video babe

I made my snail organic food with spinach, green beans, zucchini, peas with shell removed, calcium mix, blended it, cooked it up, let it cool, froze it in small globs, no gelatin. Threw it in tank frozen, my snail loved it and so does my Betta Tango. They’re friends. I also threw in a algae wafer just because she’s a big eater. Love my Lily the snail. She’s getting big.

Just recently brought a snail and I love it, I put him with a Beta fish and so far they are perfect roommates 🐟🐌. Is it ok for me to give my snail snail jello with my beta fish in the same tank? Cause you added tuna in the ingredients will that affect my beta fish?

if you make vegetable jello your beta should have no interest in it. unless it is constipated...

I floated them in my 40 breeder only cuz it's a great tropical tank and their rents live in there. I do have bladder snails. Will they hurt my apples in any way? I have noticed they stick to my apple snails.

I use zukini and spinach, with powered dried mealworms for protein and powdered cuttlefish Bone for calcium. sometimes I use carrots and squash, this Next batch I'll use some romaine lettuce, maybe blueberries and strawberries too

I tried it and it worked I am sooooooo happy . But I used frozen spinach and without tuna or jeletien and it worked . I used china grass it is kind of jeletien in fact it worked like jeletien. And I am sure that my SNAILS are gonna like it. Thanks a lot stef .

i made this with tuna and a head of romain, divided into 2 bags so i could freeze one for later. i dropped a chunk in for the snails but my fish started eating the jello instead! so i had to distract them with flakes so my snails could enjoy their treats lol. hopefully its safe for fish to eat too :)

Love your videos. My apple snails have been laying eggs like crazy lately but none have hatched, the fist batch being almost a month old now. I'm wondering maybe they aren't fertile? they have kept their bright pink color only a few eggs of the first clutch seem to look a bit milky now...

Hmm...maybe you added too much water while blending the veggies...or the tuna can had alot of water...the more water you use, the softer it will turn out, but as long as it holds its shape its fine :)

It's not sick, don't worry. They like to float at the top sometimes. If it's like that for a day and a night it's fine, but if it's like that for maybe 2 or 3 nights and days, then that's when you'd want Steff to help you. Good luck!

magochul2 there is a similar one, the canna, that are a very invasive species because they eat through crops and almost anything, but this species of apple snail in particular (pomacea diffusa) is not an invasive species since they can only eat dead plants and they are sold almost everywhere world wide. maybe you just havent found a place that sells them?

no, the gelatine has to be dissolved into the hot water before it will work, if u just dump in the cold mix it will just got all lumpy and not hold together

Heatherstar 7 I don't know about her, but it depends on how any snails you have and their size. I have 5 young adults- I feed them large algae tablets made for plecos. Usually one tablet will last a day or two.
