@ There’s no strict minimum to open a broker account with Emirates NBD or other banks, but you usually need a savings or current account with them. The broker account is separate, so even if your main account goes negative, as long as your total balance is around 3,000 AED (based on my experience), you’re fine. Many UAE banks let you buy stocks but charge a commission of 0.15% + VAT per trade. That’s why I recommend a buy-and-hold strategy. I mean, it’s 2025 and they’re still charging a fee for every trade! It’s like living in Dubai, where everything is modern and advanced, except for some parts where it’s still stuck in the Stone Age! Alternatively, platforms like Schwab and a few others (accessible for UAE residents) let you trade US stocks with no commission, while UAE brokers always charge.
