I don’t care to eat meat, and never liked fish period. I hated my school lunches when it came with tuna fish( ugh). I came from a family of six girls my daddy was a meat cutter so we were very lucky to have all sorts of meats and fish. I was the only one that when I learned where all this food came from it turned my stomach. So I was the little weirdo in the group,and I still don’t like to eat to much meat these days, I feel like I was a little brat because so many kids are deprived of good food. I appreciate my Mom andDad and how lucky we were. Anyways will try pasta salad without shrimp too. It looks delicious. Just wanted to let you know I with you on Shrimp too❤

I LOVE the way you grated the carrot! I usually grate them smaller but I'm going to try it your way. Also I'm going to add one can of drained tuna to the salad.

My momma recipe uses the same pasta, but her family used a red onion,1\2 green pepper chopped, 1 jar of drained diced pimentos 1 cup finely diced celery, 1 cup to 1 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese diced, salt and pepper ,and 1 cup of best food mayonnaise love it too. Also found an old Betty Crocker book and tried this one too and love the flavors together 8ounces of same pasta, 10 ounce of frozen green peas, 1 cup cubed cheddar cheese(I always used till-amok extra sharp yellow), 1 onion (I always use red onion)chopped up ,1 cup of chopped gherkins ,salt and pepper 3/4 cup mayonnaise.I do think your dressing would be excellent and give both pasta salads more flavor. New to your channel love your passion for cooking. Hope you can try these someday too. Hugs to you Sister ❤sending lots from Seattle Wa. Januari❤🩵🫂

Looks delicious! I love pasta salad. Actually I like using a juicy homegrown tomato. The pasta always absorbs the juice and gives an added flavor! When it comes to cucumbers, I only use the little short pickling cucumbers. They don't have those large seeds, so you can leave them in, plus the pickling cucumbers naturally are sweeter than the large cukes. These are the ones that are about as big around as a quarter and aren't full of big seeds.

I make this salad with only ditalini pasta no shrimp but same ingredients and I cute cube size cheddar cheese same size as ditalini and same dressing I use apple cider vinegar and Splenda. It’s always a hit everyone loves the Ditalini pasta it’s bite size and not over barring. Great Video Louise. Now please do more videos with that Ninja Woodfire XL. We just bought one for our motorhome and we have been using it a lot. Some failures some success. We bought the flat griddle and the basket that is Teflon
@TheSaltedPepper7 ай бұрын
I totally agree about the ditalini pasta! It's the perfect size. I have been testing tons of Woodfire recipes to get out and my issue is the darn weather! Every time I have the time to film (they are always a full day of filming due to the longer cooking times with many things), the weather isn't my friend. LOL It's getting to the point where I may have to put the recipes up on my website and make the video another time. I have about 15 recipes tested and ready to go.

If you use cucumber cut out the seeds then put cukes in s strainer any type and add 1/4 tsp of salt and set them aside about 30-45 min to have liquid come out of them, before you add the tomato pieces use several sheets of paper towel to dry the tomatoes off. That way if you are prone to add salt & pepper taste 1st when finished to check the saltiness due to the salted, drainec tomatoes. That way you are safe in not over salting. If you taste final product see if you want more salt & the pepper. Also, using canned tuna

@royaltyb18376 ай бұрын
Great recipe that seems adaptable. However, what spices would you recommend for this pasta salad? Plus, can the dressing be changed out to a slight lemony taste? I think that taste profile would go nicely with the shrimp. What do you think? 😊
@TheSaltedPepper6 ай бұрын
You can add any kind of spices you like, but the salted pasta water seasons the shrimp and pasta and the dressing provides the rest of the flavor. I didn't find it necessary to add anything additional. If I was going to adapt it to a lemony pasta salad, I would probably switch from mayo to yogurt and skip the vinegar and use salt, pepper, tarragon (if you like that flavor) and I may even switch out the vegetables a bit, maybe even moving towards roasted red peppers and sundried tomatoes instead. Basically, I would create a new recipe. LOL
