Great lesson my young sister. You make you lessons plain and simple. Always remember, before anything...intonation is everything. You can play every note correctly. But if your instrument is not tuned up, they may as well be all wrong notes. So first lesson, and equally important:..."always tune up first". Keep up the great work! I LOVE what you do and how you play from your soul! ❤

Hello Helen Ibe!!! I know nothing about playing guitar although I know a little about the scale. I think I'll commandeer my daughter's guitar and try to learn to play it. I bought it for her when she was about 8yrs old; she's 25 now. She left it when she move to NJ after she got married last year in December. I'll just use it until she wants it back. LoL. Thank you for sharing. 😍

Helen, I thot I had seen it all, how I lied to myself. You are one of the best teachers. I found yr videos at a time when I was tired of playing at the top of the guitar neck. You have just taken me on a journey and I will always follow yr videos, I needed these guitar "dribling skills" that are found only in real stars. Thank u very much and please keep posting more videos because I want to be able to play across the whole guitar neck. Please do slowly on F, much appreciated

When explaining 3rds its best to use the term root for 1, major/minor for 3rd. Good luck!!! I enjoy your teaching you have a pleasant teacher manner 🙏🏾🙏🏾

@ 6:45..she says exactly that.."Root and third". Anyway "best" is subjective. If it works "best" for you then fine.

Managed the daughter of a famous Ghanaian Highlife musician in the late 80s around the DC area. We hired two guitar and bass playing brothers, also from Ghana. We were the featured group for THE African World Festival in Detroit, and the brothers couldn't board a plane because of immigration issues. We called the former bass player a bro from DC like myself. I grabbed my axe and we took off.. I'm on stage; "man what am I gonna do" ? Bass bro, "just do the James Brown and follow me" . So that's what I did, James Brown funk chords. We went over well, and I got the most phone numbers left on the front of the stage. 😁 And oh, one of my sisters was hooked up with the son of the most famous Ghanaian musician both drummers.. They were rated the 2nd and 3rd best drummers in the world. One day he grabbed my gitfiddle and laid out some hot Highlife licks and then handed my guitar back to me. I was stunned! 😲 I just saw your q&a vid. I see you're from Nigeria. Our drummer was Nigerian. He was the best pure Highlife drummer in the DC area at that time. He could also Rap- Chant really fast... Bad dude!
