Best advertising I have ever seen, normally I skip through the advertising if I have seen product before but Jackery should pay you double, your humour brightened my day. Such beautiful daughters, I remember helping my Dad when I was young believe me the joy I had from that relationship with him was priceless. It's not only that your daughters are tough, it's that they love you so much that your approval of what they do means everything to them, so spiders are not going to get in the way of that. Happy Thanksgiving to you and everyone that loves this channel too. One thing of note. You absolutely MUST NOT let ANY shadows fall on your solar panels. Its called the partial shading problem. It is an extremely big deal! If you shade 5% of the panel, the total current output of the panel will drop to the current produced by the shaded portion. ALWAYS keep those panels in full direct sunlight to get the highest efficiency possible. Move them every thirty to forty five minutes to be face on to the sun all day long to get the most out of them. Raise them up off the ground to keep the tree shade off of them for as much of the day as possible. Best of luck to ya!

I can attest to the handiness of the Jackery unit. Mine's much smaller...a 200, I think. But it's really handy. Charging electronics, running my toaster over, and it will even run the pump in my off grid shower. Good stuff.

You are worth more to me to see those happy faces. I do know about poor as of most of my life was just that. I don't have the worries I did when younger as alaska takes care of kids and old timers rather well. It could still be a lot better. I am sure that no rich uncles are going to save me. I admire how this family preservers though the hard times and still be happyish as in shampooing hair in snow water. My "family ancestors" took a deep breath just watching that painful situation. You are making the place to nice, it may make it hard to be motivated to build a new house. I bought a jackery after we were evacuated because of forest fires last year. The power kept going out for a couple of weeks because of all the damage. The jackery ran my fridge and freezer. It isn't quite big enough to run my electric log splitter. The solar charging is nice. Thanks for sharing.

We got a gas generator older model, we bought a new one and it has a CO2 safety shut off, even outside if the wind blows it shuts off, took it back, we were thinking as well about a jackery, hate listening to the gas generator out here in the north woods, got me an eight point opening day, hope you had a good season as well, good luck from your fellow UP off gridder 👍

i have been giving your new cabin build some thought. Grouping the utilities, restroom and kitchen reduces the amount of plumbing pipe and drains which save money. Also the shorter the runs the less chance of things breaking. The designs i have for a couple of abodes have the utility room between the kitchen and restroom . I usually design the laundry either in the restroom or in the utility space. An integrated vent system will also save on materials. I always add a subterranean chamber for root cellar, storm cellar and wine storage.
