What do you do in the shower the day after doing this ? (in regards to your hair)
@TyJalayahRobertson5 жыл бұрын
I would recommend covering it or just being sure not to get it wet. You can re-wet/detangle every other day, twice a week, or once a week, whichever seems to work best for your hair and schedule. Just be sure to re-moisturize (w/leave-in conditioner) any time after you do rinse or wash your hair so that it doesn’t dry out after washing.

Video summary for everyone’s convenience: 1. Shampoo: apply to scalp ONLY using only finger beds and not fingernails; shampoo will flow down hair strands naturally when washing it out 2. Conditioner (or any other hair products): when applying, only apply to hair, not to scalp (same goes for any other hair products as well); the conditioner restores moisture so you can use comb/brush in next step 3. Detangle: detangle with wide tooth comb or detangling brush a. Start at ends of hair, pull up, and gradually move the starting point closer to the root b. Once you’re done with one area, move to another area c. If you have hair that is much longer or really thick, section your hair and detangle one section at a time 4. Deep condition: let the conditioner sit in the hair for as long as the product specifies; make sure the conditioner used specifies deep treatment/conditioner 5. Moisturizer/leave-in conditioner: after everything’s rinsed out, moisturize your hair with a leave-in conditioner 6. OPTIONAL: use oil to hold moisture in hair 7. Distribute: use comb to distribute the product throughout the hair; typically our hair ends up in a natural fro, so you can leave it as is and let it air dry, or you can style it how you usually style it using the styling products that you like to use

Guys is it better to do this routine before going out or before going to bed? I usually take a shower in the evening, after going to the gym/basketball practice.. So I was wondering if taking a shower 1 or 2 hours before going to bed is a bad thing? Thanks for the tips tho the video is very usefull💯👌🏾
@TyJalayahRobertson5 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I’m glad you found the video helpful ☺️ This is fine to do 2 hrs before bed or going out. Do you usually allow your hair to dry as is? Or is there a certain way that you style it after washing? Depending on how you usually wear your hair, sleeping on it while wet can over-flatten it and make it a little difficult to refluff in the morning but other than that, it’s totally fine to do right before bed.

If you do this once a week what do you do throughout the week to keep your natural curls going?
@TyJalayahRobertson4 жыл бұрын
With just washing, our curls will naturally frizz & lose its definition once it dries so to best define our curl and hold it over the days, add a gel or curl defining product to your (wet) hair after this wash process to define and hold the curl. Each night you can sleep with a bonnet or on a satin/silk bonnet and that should preserve the curls. Each morning you’ll just fluff your curls a little with your fingers to revive it.

Man those were the days i could get up and go now a year and half later i gotta set time aside the days i were it out. When im not wearing it out i like to moisturize it wrap it in a silk scarf ( du-rag) and slap a hat on thats my version of (protective styling) for those of you men who want a simple option try that just make sure you keep you hair moisturized under all that the one of the biggest cause for knots is dryness. Nice instructions. I always wash with shampoo and afterward apply Shea conditioner (oh God I love that conditioner and the smell) and one I think I learnt from this video is, I don't leave conditioner on my hair for long as I wash it off almost immediately and secondly, I don't moisturise my hair before I apply hair cream and hair/oil spray on it. Must u cover your hair after applying conditioner? Hope to get a reply as this video is Old

Thank you! ☺️ I’m so glad this video was able to help. For the conditioning step, you don’t have to cover up but it is super helpful. The covering creates body heat and heat helps your hair cuticles open up so the deep conditioner can get in a little better/deeper. So that’ll help in making the hair feel even softer and retain more moisture.
