I bought this mitre saw in June 2014, and I remodeled my basement with it. It it sturdy and it works great kzbin.infoUgkxKL3MYO42eA2JbKxs7_Q0tmRGZI4Ow4Ar . There's not a lot of extra play in the adjustments and it is definitely well built. It is lighter than higher-end sliding double bevel models, so I can move it myself, which is nice. When I had to cut 2x10 lumber, I had to flip the boards over and cut twice; but since most of my cutting was on smaller dimension lumber, the weight reduction and significantly lower price seemed to be a better trade off for the boards I did have to flip. Late in the project, I was able to borrow a DW718, and the sliding feature does make fast work of 2x10s, but it is a tank, and I stand by my choice of the DW715. I also added a laser guide (one of the arbor replacement style sold on Amazon), which is nice to have, but definitely not needed.

Great video. I plan to build a similar setup but a bit wider. I don't plan to plane the 2x4s down as it doesn't add any value and I don't plan to do lap joints as glue and screw is good enough to support the table saw. Other than that, I plan to copy everything else so I can get it done in a day. Thanks for the video!

I don't think so. I did think about putting a piano hinge on the miter say shelf with some locking pins so you can just tilt the saw down when not using it. But I wanted the video to keep things simple

I like the concept of a combination chop bench and outfeed table but I would make it a bit wider so that the chop saw can remain on the bench while using the table saw. As it is now, I set up seperate benches for the two tools as I usually use both simultaneously. To have to dismanlte a cut station to use another one is just too impractical to me.

before I made the shelf for the planer, I had planned to piano hinge the chopsaw shelf to allow it to swing down out of the way when not is use. Having used it for a few months now, I am loving the setup as is, ni issues. Thanks for watching

Do you have the exact dimensions of the workbench as well as the dimensions of the boards that were cut.

I'm wondering why you used two pieces of plywood under the table saw?
@thehandymanchannel315
@thehandymanchannel315 2 жыл бұрын
hi Chris. I thought it would be a good idea to add the second piece for stability / rigidity. Probably overkill but I had it so figured I'd use it.

Man I’ve got to point out you have the heaviest and most dangerous tool hanging off the side unsupported. Not to mention that’s side you’re going to load lumber on from. Be careful she doesn’t tip

Thanks for watching . Been in use for 8 months now, love the bench. Zero risk of tipping, with or without the planer acting as counterweight.

I built this bench and it instantly flipped the moment I set my Hercules table saw on it. The is absolutely no way to safely use the table saw without a some serious counterweight or legs on the platform. I’m adding legs to mine.

@@birkbeck11I’ve put 2 bags of concrete of the the table saw, with no planer on the bottom shelf, and the bench doesn’t tip. That said , if you don’t have a planer to act as a counterweight you can store your miter saw down there, or sand , or….. thanks for watching
