Thank you so much. I was nearing 300lbs and could barely do ten push-ups. I saw this video and got to work. I ended up doing the challenge for a whole year, eventually increasing to 150 and then 200 push-ups per day. In that time I lost 55 lbs. I started tracking my calories and doing pull ups every day. I am proud to say that in 1 year 10 months I've lost 115 lbs and am in my normal BMI range. Without this videos inspiration, I wouldn't be in the happiness and healthiest place in my life

You can see he did 100 push ups thru the day or in a span of 10'ish minutes depending how long breaks he took between sets. He did not do 100 in a row. Honestly you can and should do 100-300 push ups per day depending on your level. Just spread them into sets and do long breaks, there's 24hrs in a day! Just know that you should have rest days to actually become stronger and build the muscle. Doing it 30 days straight gets nobody anywhere. Good luck!
@CavsFanDallasFanSinceFebruary4 жыл бұрын
AoWtweek Thank you. What I do is my 1 set max for the first set, then just go to near failure for the ones after. At one point I was able to do 75 push-ups in a row after training for 2 weeks. I took a very long break after that, tho, but quarantine is making me start over. My one set max is 45 rn, and I started on Monday with a break to relax my mind on Wednesday and Thursday. My one set max on Monday was 30, so breaks really do help for anyone else reading this.
@aowtweek53474 жыл бұрын
@@CavsFanDallasFanSinceFebruary Just to add to the advice: I suggest you don't focus too much on the repetitions but rather try to fix your technique and go from quantity to quality. There are some good video guides out there on how to properly do push ups which is basically going all the way down, almost touch the floor with your chest and going all the way up meaning pushing your shoulders down and locking your arms. Also do them slow not fast. Squeeze your butt. Do all that and your 45 max will turn into 25 max ;)

Im gonna start this tonight, Sunday December 8th 2019 and update everyday until i reach 30 days. Wish me good luck for my first set tonight :). Day 1: Just finished my first set of 100 pushups and i was able to do the first 10 and then after that i was only able to do 5 at a time but i got it done in about 30 minutes. My arms are firm and hurt but i'll commit. Day 2: I did 20 in the gas station with my friends lol. Im incredibly sore and tired from my 2 P.E classes (im 14 btw) and the pushups from yesterday, I hurt at the sides of my chest by my armpits, my Core and the bottom of my biceps. I feel like i can do this for the 30 days so im gonna keep going. I also took before pictures so i can see what i looked like before the challenge. Im ready for day 3 and just finished my 100 :). Day 3 and 4: IM still sore but the pushups are easier and I'm feeling way better about this challenge. Day 5, 6 and 7: Icing my arms doesn't work to take away the soreness but the pushups are easier and i'm able to do 25 now before i have to take a break. Day 8 and 9: My arms are starting to become more defined. A very slight difference but that's cause i'm only on day 9 lol. The past 13 days: I've been on vacation in arkansas and i will admit I skipped one day but im able to do 70ish before my arms give out. I had a growth spurt and slimmed out so i feel like this challenge will be easier. I dont get sore from the pushups anymore because i think my body got used to it.

Working on a single muscle group (usually "beach muscles") to the exclusion of the opposite muscle group isn't good either. If you do a pushing excersise, you gotta do a pulling one. Otherwise it can lead to musculoskeletal issues down the road. If you do biceps, then you gotta do triceps. If you do pushups, then you gotta do pull ups or incline rows or something for the upper back. And training the same muscle group EVERY DAY isn't necessarily good for you either. Muscles need recovery time to build themselves back up after you break them down. Otherwise, you can be doing more harm than good (or at least, paradoxically making gains *more slowly* than you would if you trained every-other-day!). Don't get me wrong... It's good that he's doing this. But just doing pushups (EVERY DAY, no less!) isn't an optimal solution either.

in my experience, the pump is usually about 1/4 to 1/2 inch if you're just doing push ups, and up to an inch if you're blasting your pipes with super sets with little rest in between. ie 20 curls with moderate weight, then do 20 push ups, and alternate back and forth a few times with no rest. That gives me an inch of pump. Feels great!

It's more about time under tension than the reps, do your regular 25 then do 25 as slow as you possibly can and feel the difference. A good example is count 10 seconds starting at 1 then pushing up and not getting fully extended until you're at 10, then repeat that process going back down.

@6jeremy95 жыл бұрын
@@alex.s8407 you keep doing it like that you will see a greater result, not just with push ups either any kind of resistance training. If you slow down the motion and concentrate on squeezing the muscle as you perform the exercise you will get more out of it then just trying to knock out a set as quickly as you can or trying to go super heavy. Time under tension is the best way to gain muscle, that's the main reason those exercise bands work, it keeps your muscles contracted.

And if you are just doing press ups plus plus other stuff... you won’t give yourself 48 hours to recover which is why if you were to do them every 2 days then you would get more gainz then ever. Also along with the idea your arms and chest won’t grow substantially if your nutrition is not right. Getting ripped in 30 days you just can’t takes months lol and 80 percent is nutrition.

I'm doing it this month. After 1 day I'm really, really sore. EDIT: I did it. January, all 31 days I did 100 pushups. So I know the guy in the video said no special diets, but protein shakes and bars are crucial to translating time spent doing pushups into actual muscle. Epsom salt baths or something similar are also key, at least for me, for mustering the strength the first 3 days after the first to do the pushups. You will be sore at first. Eventually, though, you'll be adding stuff on because it's become so easy. I did elevated pushups more and more often approaching day 31. All in all, I would reccomend this challenge! And if you're wondering about the gains, I'm 15 and you'll see the most gains in the biceps. Forearms benefit as well, and pectorals see some improvement. Best of luck to you all!

It's nucleus overload, it's why guys in prison and guys who do calisthenics all the time are so ripped. If you put constant stress and tension on the muscle it will grow and adapt quickly. Most people barely even tire themselves out at the gym and do one body part a week. If you want to grow it's best to train that body part as much as you can, stress it out so much it has no option to grow.
