Great info! I relate to your story a lot, Ellen, as I am now the only plant-based eater I know. Surviving cancer lead me here, and my oncologist is vegan! Here in Alabama, you can imagine vegan options are verrry limited, lol. Also, thankfully, I have already done the work to unwind all the diet culture BS over the past years and become an intuitive eater. So that made it SO MUCH easier to make sure I was *eating enough* during transition, not fearing starches, fruit, fats, paying attention to how I feel, etc. That balanced plate approach is super helpful to staying full from a meal. Like you, I often have a first breakfast/ appetizer of just fruit or smoothie. And then oats or grits later on to fill me up. I so appreciate your level-headedness, loving positive energy.💖

Im just happy u left ur comment section open... I've been following u and ur family for yrs now. Im talking back when Elvis was like 2years old. But ever since the comment section closed and u started the 'pay to watch' site I feel less connected to ur channel and therefor watch less videos. If you see this comment, I hope u can rethink having ur comment section open on ur main channel. If its closed for other reasons I'd rather want you to adress it.

Ellen I have been watching your videos for years. Love them ! I am now vegan and just three weeks in I got my period after not having it for more then 18 months. I never had a regular cycle and was diagnosed with PCOS and given a fertility treatment since I didint have a period - didint ovulate. It did not work. I am only 25 so thought to myself there had got to be another way. After reading dr nitu bajekals book living pcos free where she promotes a vegan diet for hormonal health. It's been a couple months since I started being 100% vegan and I had my period twice exactly on time !! Never going back :)

Hi Ellen! I can’t wait for more podcast episodes! I love the content you put out. As a plant based mom with a baby and toddler I have a request: can you talk about “first foods” and plant based baby and kid tips? With my first child (she’s 3 now) I wasn’t as focused on plant based and so she is somewhat stuck eating more processed type of foods and is super picky when it comes to whole plant foods. I’m working on changing that but it’s tough! And my baby is only 3 months old so I’m looking forward to starting him out on a better diet from the start. So any tips and ideas and advice would be great! I think a lot of moms follow you for the kid content so I’m hoping this can be a topic in the podcast at some point. Thanks! ☮️💗

Hi, Ellen! I have a video suggestion/ request!! I am at the age where I am planning on having children, but my partner is not vegan and we have a conflict of opinion when it comes to feeding our children a vegan diet. Is there anyway that you could make a video explaining the different nutrients that children need at the different stages of life (1 year- beyond), as well as some nutrients that you focus on while pregnant and breast feeding? I think the added knowledge might help him feel more at ease and give me some more information!! Also, I am so thankful for your guidance within these podcasts and in your main channel! I have been watching your videos for about 4 years now and they help me gain knowledge that was never taught in my household growing up.

I feel you! My husband and I are at that same point in our lives, having the same conversations. Luckily, he is incredibly supportive and we have agreed that our children will be primarily plant-based. If it helps at all, Ellen's sister, Hannah McNeely, made a video about this topic. Her husband is non-vegan as well.

So you are not even able to get and research this very crucial information by yourself but are still determined to convince your husband? Makes sense lol... Also, her children have very clear developmental issues (speech, weight, body/bone structure etc.)
@ebonijohnson9271

@@rosalie331 wow, Im not sure why you are so hostile. Of course I will be doing my own research, but it is nice to hear other people’s tips (especially when they are experienced with multiple children). I am not yet married, my partner and I are just planners and have been discussing how we would like to raise our family and planning when we would want to begin trying. This is important to me, as I don’t want to commit to a marriage if we will not be able to agree on how to raise children. I am not a doctor, but I do have a degree in early childhood education and work as an elementary school teacher and I can tell you that every child is different. Most students that walk into my door are meat eaters and I’ll have some 5 year olds that can’t follow simple directions or use scissors and some 5 year olds that are smart as a whip. At least developmentally, her children are right on track and comparing their weight to the meat eaters that come into my class, they fit in with the students of healthy weight. There is no reason to live your life with so much anger and hostility constantly. I wish you happiness.

Exactly! You never hear society making a fuss over the ones who feed their children fast food multiple times a week, sugary cereals for breakfast, processed meat sandwiches for lunch and some kind of processed dinner with limiting fruit because if the “sugar” and having a small side salad or veggies as a side... if at all. Nobody bats an eye but the moment they hear of vegans or people who primarily eat fruits and veggies and a Whole Foods diet, with no meat no milk or eggs and limited processed product, then everyone’s up in arms, especially if they hear you’re raising kids this way. Makes no sense. Biggest thing I can chalk it up to is it’s their inner conscious feelings guilty for these things because they see how healthy our families are and know they’re not doing their best... 🤷🏻‍♀️

oops I ate a delicious tortilla till I felt 90% full and now Im exploding haha. Btw have you seen the research about stress from kelly mcgonigal? She found that yes when you see stress as something bad it is really bad for your health and when you see stress as helpful it actually improves your health more than if you wouldnt have stress. It has something to do with in the first case your heartbeat rising while your bloodvessels constrict and in the second case a rising heartbeat as well now while your bloodvessels open up.
